We first met Ellie on a pack walk back in April with my then 4 Month old Belgian Malinois who was a bit of reactive towards dogs and people we started attending the neutrality classes the week after and 2 months later he’s a completely different dog from barking at the sight of a dog or person to being able to walk calmly around both people and dogs in close proximity, holding both long distance sit/down stays around distractions and just generally being neutral to both people and dogs is amazing to achieve in such a short amount of time and we wouldn’t of been able to achieve this without the help of Ellie . Ellie is the BEST trainer that I could have asked for. We’ve been working on my dog for few years now and the progress and the transformation from the dog he used to be to now it’s spectacular. If you have a reactive dog she sure as hell will help you but of course you as the owner will need to put a work to it. She will guide you through your journey and help out. She’s an angel 😇 there’s no BS with her she will tell you straight if and what you are doing wrong. Definitely Bourne wouldn’t be able to have as many friends as he has now and sure as hell I wouldn’t be able to walk him with her help! STOP scrolling!!! You’ve just fount THE best dog trainer you’ll ever need! Ellie goes above and beyond her role, she offers such a variety of training and caters for everyone! She is incredible with our chocolate Labrador ‘Hamish’ and he is besotted with her! He has come on so far since Ellie has trained him since 6 months old, he is friendly reactive and Ellie has put so much effort and time into him and offers support via a WhatsApp group! Ellie has hands down been the best trainer for not only my pup but for us as a family…. And I should know, I’ve tried a fair few! Ellie has been the only one to make me feel comfortable and confident with my pup and helping me navigate what to do in certain situations. This is the lady we used to baby sit out dogs whilst we have been away. We didn't want the dogs going into kennels as Jack was a rescue dog and had just settled in with us. Jack is very sensitive too so it was important for us not to have his routine dsitrupted too much. Ellie has done dog phycology which made us feel at ease straight away. What do you love most about your job?
I am able to aid owners in building the foundations to create a happy, well-balanced dog who is capable of co-existence with a variety of factors. I enjoy nothing more than watching dogs fulfill their potentials.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having my own (previously) reactive rescue dog, I know how hard it can be to find someone you trust to care for your dog in these cases. I also know how hard it is to find someone in the local area who believes in the balanced training methods I impliment.
Why should our clients choose you?
Midlands Mutts aim to build positive relationships, free of conflict, between dog and owner. With clear communication, we develop a confident owner and a dog who can be taken anywhere.
Structured Solo Walks
I offer structured solo walks, of at least 30 minutes, where we work on basic skills and confidence building- with the eventual aim to have your dog on a paired or group walk.
Structured Group Walks
Our structured group walks are based around neutrality and confidence, and building skills in a variety of settings. They are at least 45 minutes, and will be paired/ small groups of 3 to match your dogs energy and playstyles for when they are ready to engage in these.
1-2-1 Training
I offer 1-2-1 owner training, working on a variety of skills- and busting behaviours you no longer want to see in your dog.
