I started to look at the possible options I had in order to achieve better strength and muscle. I knew I wouldn't manage in the gym on my own. I had a fear of people looking at me, which would lead to anxiety and then I would not go and work out. I also didn't know how to be safe using equipment or have any idea of any program to follow to make progress. I have tried and failed to use a gym many times over the years.
So I searched online for personal trainers in my area. I contacted Shaun after reading the many positive reviews and his personal transformation story.
My goal when I started to work with Shaun was to lift heavy weights in order to get stronger and build muscles. I had no expectations of where I would be in 3months or 6months I just wanted to be consistent. He meets me where I am physically and mentally, tailoring my training to my needs and/or ability for each session. He is so patient and kind and will always push you to work hard to achieve the best results.
Since working out regularly with Shaun for the past 6 months I have seen progress surprisingly fast, not only with the amount of weight on the bar, but in my range of motion too. I realized recently that when I think about going to the Gym I no longer have that crippling anxiety about other people watching me and I feel like I would have the confidence to work out on my own in a gym environment. I have new skills and knowledge and a new found love for lifting heavy weight.

I started my PT sessions with Shaun just over 4 months ago. He put a lot of time in upfront to really understand my requirements and to tailor my sessions to suit my ability and more importantly my goals.
Shaun has the ability to create a very relaxing environment for training (which is a big plus for me) whilst balancing this with pushing me to reach my potential.
The sessions are fun and also educational and what I love the most is he will always explain the "why" when talking about nutrition and training. This has really helped me to create a different and more positive mindset towards things.
I feel like a have come a long way not only in my physical journey but also in becoming mentally stronger. I look forward to my sessions with Shaun but also enjoy telling him about the sessions I am now able to do independently as a result of his training. He's always on the end of a phone to help me with those too.

Shaun was very helpful from the beginning. He gives the first 'getting to know you' session for free which allows you to get an idea of his style of training, and how he can help with your fitness journey. He showed me how to get the most out of my exercise, and how to do various moves without risk of injury. He provides lots of information about nutrition and how you can tweak your diet to assist with your fitness journey. He is encouraging rather than demanding and nonjudgmental. Before starting my sessions with Shaun the most I had really done in the gym was some half-hearted time on the treadmill or a swim, always giving up after a little progress was made. Shaun really gets you thinking about what you want to achieve, and works with you to achieve those goals. I got in touch with Shaun as I had suffered a back injury and had been unable to work out for quite a few months. From the initial conversation I had with him it was clear to see he was personable, he listens to his clients, he’s approachable, he made me feel at ease and would provide a personalised work out for my individual needs. I have found that his sessions have strengthened what was my weak areas and I have been able to work out & push my limits but in safe way with Shaun always checking my form and making sure I’m not feeling uneccessary pain in areas that I shouldn’t. I have had a few personal trainers over the years but none have been as personable as Shaun, they weren’t able to identify my strengths and weaknesses, and I have I never felt as much achievement so soon. Shaun is a great P.T. really supportive and understanding, doesn't put you under a lot of pressure or push you too hard. I only had four sessions to help with a program design but I really enjoyed them and found them so useful, they have really helped to better my gym routine. I have now worked with Shaun for over 18 months. With his help, I have achieved a lot. It is actually the little things, that have impressed me most. My posture is a lot better, I walk differently and ever so often I notice, that I can do things, that I couldn't do a while ago. By working closely with my client, I can find out what their individual needs are and develop a relationship that allows them to move forwards.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
It's boring I'm afraid. Consistency is the answer. Not front page news or a clickbait link on Facebook. I find the best way for my client to be consistent with a plan that is going to be optimal for them. Train smarter, not harder!
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the change in my clients over the time we work together. Not only are they fitter and leaner, but more importantly for me, they're happier. I'm extremely grateful to have this role, it's very rewarding.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I like seeing people lead happier, healthier lives with my help. I like giving my clients the tools they need to succeed when it comes to taking care of their health.

With over 9 years in the industry working as a Virgin Active Personal Trainer, and then moving onto becoming a David Lloyd PT, and finally going freelance, I have had many happy and successful clients in that time who highly recommend me (please check my website for reviews).
My approach to PT is rare in the saturated market of "6 week certified Personal Trainers" because I've been there. I was overweight, unhappy and I can understand the mindset of a client who is struggling (check my website to see my own journey).
I want to discover what my client needs to be able to succeed with their goals and I build a strategy based on the individual instead of just shouting orders at you as you lay in a pool of sweat and tears.
