Complications and grief from first day, as all went awry and was dishonest. Day 1 he denied length of patio we agreed verbally on trust and asked for significantly more money. Being a widow, on my first job alone and with old patio already being scrambled by his team, I agreed to pay. Next we looked online for slabs, agreed he will bring samples, next thing he rings asking urgently that I pay the depot for labs due next day. Agreed in rush, as at least the color was right. Patio ended 30 cm higher -had to buy 3 tons of soil, new turf, fixed it myself with my son, was so hard to do. End of first wk he asked for most of the money to pay his workers, on reflection this was his tactic in me having no leverage against him at the end. Last day they stole a sheet of trampoline pretending to empty the rubbish while I asked them not too, and then denied when I rang them. I was very upset as it was new bought by my late husband for my car boot if needed. They had traffic access thought my garage full of tools, God only knows what else they took. Weeks later, filling between slabs started melting and continued to ever since. For past 2 yrs been ringing Charlie Doherty to come and fix, never turned up, only excuses and lies. Filled holes myself but they keep occurring elsewhere. My 'new' patio is terrible, dirty, misaligned, with holes.Feel so stupid for the way I allowed him to pressure and manipulate me causing me much upset &grief, a horrible man! I had a bad feeling about him from the beginning, but he almost begged me to give him the job and I agreed, thinking I was helping him find work. Charlie and he’s team of guys done a great job on my driveway and patio very happy with the results highly recommend
