⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are about 7 weeks into our training with our new puppy, Harvey, and already have an unbelievably well trained dog! When picking a trainer (something everyone needs to do), our main priority was that he/she used positive reinforcement methods only. We have seen first-hand the damage that the antiquated ‘dominance’ (Cesar Milan style) training can have, and it’s ugly. I would highly recommend you take a few one-on-one sessions with Steve to get you off on the right foot. We also opted to take Harvey to the weekly puppy class as it’s great value and offers regular socialisation and proofing opportunities. Our 15 week-old Labrador can now: sit, sit-stay, lie down, down-stay, touch a target, come when called, heel, high five, crawl, play dead, drop, leave, and walk calmly on a leash. The majority of this, he can also do in outdoor environments and even when surrounded by other dogs (provided his excitement levels are under the ‘I’m not going to listen to you anymore’ threshold). This is in no small part a product of techniques and lessons provided by Steve at Positive Paws. We will continue with our training with Steve for many months to come. Five stars. More...

Steve came out to us last Saturday and gave us some much needed help and advice with our 8 month old German Shepard cross he is a rather large and excitable lump of love who really didn't know he was pulling limbs out of their sockets every time we were walking him, Steve within no time had him walking calmly and with focus, it's now not even a week later and he is walking so much better our shoulders are firmly in place still! We have 2 very young Labrador puppies very excitable and very clever . We hadn't had puppies for 19 years do were very unsure about training , since Steve has been training with us it has been wonderful we now are able to be in control with the confidence he has given us and the pups . So thank you Steve .

5⭐️ Steve is brilliant. In the space of an hour we learn so much. It really helps receiving a follow-up email after each training session but most importantly at the end of a session my puppy has a huge smile on his face.

Beryl the excitable 7 month old Boston Terrier reached her adolescent phase and was showing an uncanny knack for being deaf to recall, showing extreme speed for chasing things and just basically making everything a little bit of a battle. After a particularly good example of speed demon behaviour chasing feathered friends and the loss of my voice due to panic shouting as Beryl rushed around ignoring me I contacted Steve who came out the next day and worked with Beryl and I to try to get us back on track. He’s very friendly has a real love of dogs and an understanding and was very patient and methodical in finding Beryl’s motivation for recall (squeaky ball). He left me with home work and emailed through a plan to work on. I was very impressed and went from being totally demoralised to more positive. Trainer was on time very good communication a total professional and my dog responded really well to his training will be booking another session to put polish to new training and to learn more my dog was instantly interested in his commands which he picked up quickly and very happily. I have tried other trainers and although their methods work for most dogs unfortunately they did not work for Archie. Steve from Positive Paws trains with kindness and rewards. I cannot believe the change in Archie after only a couple of sessions.. Archie now wants to work with me, not for me. He is so much happier. The fees are very reasonable too. Would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone. Brilliant trainer very kind, understanding and a brilliant understanding of how dogs minds work. He has been training with our German sheperd puppy since he was 9 weeks old and he is now just over 5 months old and has come forward in leaps and bounds. We have an 11 month old Labradoodle, who is very bouncy, and likes to pull on the lead and greet everyone by jumping up at them. Steve has only been training with us for x 2 sessions and the positive responses from our very large 2 year old American Bulldog have been amazing. Our dog is only too happy to demonstrate his new skills of training and obedience in and outside of the home.
Our dog is 9 stones+ in weight of solid muscle and strength, so it is imperative that he is sociable with other animals, Steve is helping us to achieve this, with great progress. We have recently regimes an anxious 7 month old Border Collie who with no socialisation and in the space of two weeks after two sessions she has made remarkable progress. Steve has excellent communication skills with clients and with dogs and his methods are consistent, easy to understand, kind and incredibly effective. She is growing in confidence daily using his easy to follow command and reward methods and distraction techniques and is starting to play simple games with us at home and at the park. We are looking for forward to more sessions with Steve and are fully expecting to end up with a lovely dog that feels safe, walks nicely, knows how to interact correctly with other dogs and people and is sufficiently stimulated to be happy and content. Had our first puppy training session with Steven yesterday. Steven was great notley only with our puppy but also with my son, He made it fun for my son and got them both engaging very well. Would highly recommend
