Hannah:

Thanks Alex, was great to have such an in-depth and knowledgeable talk.

Joy:

Alex gave us an informative and personable talk on Managing Stress in the workplace - thought provoking, enjoyable and some tips I will be putting into practice!

Joshua:

Had an online session today with Eastleigh College. It was an amazing session hosted by the college and by having a person who has gone through mental health it just helps so much to get a full understanding of what mental health is and how it affects age groups. Everyone has mental health but for those who it doesn't affect you just have to have a strong mindset and can control it. Most people these days don't understand the impact it has on people and growing up I had a friend who had really bad mental health issues, I know the feelings and what people go through. Alex Blake has inspired myself to spread his advice on mental health knowing what I know now I can help people just like him and spread awareness of mental health. My course are all very passionate about mental health and we have all been learning about it during the course period on behalf of "Public Services" and Eastleigh College we appreciate your time you gave and the impact it had on many. Keep doing what you are doing because you are an inspiration to many. Thank you

We invited Alex to speak at a social enterprise summit focusing on Improving Health in our Community. Alex delivered an excellent keynote on Mental Health Awareness, passionately sharing his own story and giving our participants true insight into the ways people can support others suffering with ill mental health. Alex has amazing specialist knowledge and his keynote was really successful with our participants, bringing a fresh perspective on such a large issue. Thanks Alex! More...

Personal Best Education - Danny:

Personal Best Education has recently used Alex to deliver workshops for our NCS programme. From the outset Alex was very professional to deal with, working in collaboration to ensure the content of the day was appropriate and challenging for the young people. The feedback from the young people was great. Even better feedback from an independent external assessor who was doing a Quality Assurance check! Thanks Alex and look forward to working with you again on our future projects.

Brewin Dolphin - Alice:

Alex's corporate session on 'managing stress in the work place' was really informative and relaxed. He encouraged thought provoking conversation and team building for the whole office, whilst delivering interesting insight. I found the information on identifying burn out in yourself and others particularly useful. A very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend.

Clearvision-CM - Lewis:

Alex spoke to our company via video meeting about managing stress in the workplace. His knowledge and insight on this topic is backed by his own personal experiences which only affirms his advice further. Very engaging and would recommend.

Great talk given to the Ingenuity summit. Highlighted the need for early intervention and preventative planning to support improved wellbeing.

Alex presented a talk for Eastleigh College as part of careers week. A fantastic delivery to inform our students of mental health issues and raise awareness of the challenges and the support available. Really insightful to listen to Alex's personal journey and the positive path out. Engagement and feedback from listeners has been great. Many thanks we wish you all the best.

Q&As

Getting positive feedback after a talk or coaching sessions makes it worth it. The conversations can be difficult to have at times but there is power in sharing our struggles. Through opening up it can empower others to seek the help they need.

Recovering myself from a suicide attempt and having a lack of support and help myself. I wanted to help others and prevent people from suffering the way I did for so long without seeing a way out.

I offer a unique approach to mental health discussions and don't hold back. I no longer feel shame or embarrassment in opening up and have worked tirelessly to become the person I am today, confident in myself to speak to audiences about a difficult and complex subject. I feel like I am a great listener and observer and can really empathise with my clients and work together towards solutions.

Yes, I can also offer my speaking, training and coaching services online via Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams as well as in person (when not in lockdowns).

Offering remote services during the pandemic so that no social distancing is required. When lockdown measures ease I would be happy to work in person or remotely depending on your location and preference.

Services

Helping employees and students improve wellbeing and increase productivity through managing stress and avoiding burnout. I approach the training from a lived experience side; being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and suffering for years in silence with depression and suicidal ideation. I share my tips, tools and insights on how to look after yourself and get the most out of your work.

Working with individual employees and students on improving their mindset. Becoming resilient to overcome challenges and maintain mental health and fully showing up each day.

Specialising on the lived experience of mental health, I have suffered in silence for over 15 years. My depression nearly got the better of me in 2016 when I attempted to take my own life. I share my story to raise awareness and I have found that by showing vulnerability it can inspire others who may be struggling but won't speak up to get the help they need.
