When I was setting up my business I knew a set of professional headshots would be essential for my website, to set the right tone for my business. Gemma was ready and waiting for me when I arrived on the day of our shoot. Gemma is a very talented photographer and she really knows how to make you feel comfortable in front of a camera.
I had chance to work with her recently as I needed professional photos for my LinkedIn profile.
First she gave me few great tips before the shoot, so I would be well prepared. Then, after arriving in a well equipped studio, she guided me through the session with a good sense of humour. I'm happy to say that Gemma's attention to detail made the end results look very natural, positive and fresh.
It was great fun and I highly recommend Gemma, if you want your online profile pictures to stand out from the crowd, but also to have them prepared and ready to download very fast.
I'm looking forward to the outdoor session as I've been told that's her speciality!

Gemma is a delight. She made me feel really comfortable during the photo shoot and I had a lovely time.
Her ideas for poses, backdrops and locations were great and she had great attention to detail, spotting a loose hair on my outfit and checking what colour clothes I'd brought so she could match them to props and settings.
She was thoroughly professional and charming during our time together.
I'm delighted with the photos. It was so hard to choose just a handful. Gemma sent me the selection to choose from much earlier than I was expecting them. She also made a few edits that I requested, which really made the pictures perfect.
I'd thoroughly recommend Photography by Gem to anyone looking for professional, high-quality photos with real personality. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

A great website is one that helps you achieve your goals. It will meet the needs of your users and convert potential clients into paying clients.

That I genuinely love seeing my clients putting themselves out there and being more visible in business. It's great seeing how much engagement they're getting on social media, and seeing that their investment in photography or website design has paid off.
What inspired you to start your own business?
On the digital side, I was working in Higher Education as digital designer but felt restricted only working with one brand and for one target audience. So I decided to set up my own design business which enabled me to work with a huge variety of brands and people. I now work for myself full-time, having left my job in July 2020. So I'm actively looking for new clients to work with.
In 2015 I found a love for photography which is takes up 50% of my time. I love seeing people's reactions when the see how great they look in photos that I've taken. Makes my day!
My favourite projects are working with start up businesses who need the whole package - an identity, a website, business stationery and awesome photography.

Photo shoots are generally in person, however, these can be done virtually using an app.
Websites are designed and built remotely, but if local, we can arrange in-person catch ups.
Web Design
I design and develop fully responsive and content-managed WordPress websites. Your site will look great, work well and appeal to your audience.
I'll work closely with you to define your goals, learn about you and your business and customers, and to design and develop a digital presence that looks the part.
Your website will be completely bespoke and on-brand, and you'll be able to make changes to the content yourself.
On top of this, I can shoot on-brand visuals for your website too!

Photography
I spend a lot of time behind the lens, shooting unique and eye-catching photos for websites, social media, online dating, friends, families, couples and more.
But my specialism is helping people in business to stand out and get noticed by capturing personality-driven photography that appeals to their dream clients.
I even have my own garden studio that can be used as a lovely location for my client's brand shoots.
I tend to work with clients in Nottingham or Derby but also travel about a lot to wherever clients are based.
I have access to a fully equipped studio in Nottingham too so if you'd like some cool studio shots - this is possible.
You'll have access to your own personal gallery where you can select and download your photos.
