What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There are two key things that go to making a great image: Relationship between photographer and subject and the “light”.
The relationship is built from the first conversation and I try and build on this in the weeks/months prior to your wedding. If you are comfortable and relaxed you will be in the best position to enjoy your day to the full, and your relaxed state will enable us to create excellent images.
The other essential factor on the day is the “light”. We all know the British weather is not always kind, but finding the relevant light depending on the day, is what I do. My time will be spent either looking for it, or creating it, to ensure we get memorable images.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Have you a specific style in mind (formal; informal - my preferred style; etc)?
Have you thought about the areas you want to cover (bride getting ready, ceremony, speeches, first dance etc,)
What do you love most about your job?
It is the individual story of every wedding, whilst they all have s similar format – no two are the same. I get to share some very special moments with you - even I have had a tear in my eye! it is a most wonderful experience and giving you the images that you expect and more is what makes it so worthwhile.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been in photography for many years (1977) and taking images and processing with a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera since 2005. I hired a top of the range camera for my sons wedding in 2008 and the following year was asked to photograph a friends daughters wedding as the official photographer. I enjoyed it so much I set up my business then and it has grown since. I have invested heavily in both training and equipment and provide an excellent high
