A ‘special’ birthday party in the gardenThis was the first time I had used caterers for a ‘special’ birthday party and I was just delighted with all aspects of the professional service and delicious food provided by Peppers. After browsing their helpful website I still wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted, but following my meeting with Caroline, her vast knowledge and experience created a wonderful three course buffet meal for my guests. However, in the count down to my party day I did change my mind a few times regarding the menu and came up with a number of last minute questions. Caroline greeted these with her gentle patience, support and some sensible suggestions. All my queries were answered promptly by Caroline, which helped to reassure me that all would be well for the’ special’ party day! The food arrived on time and I was absolutely thrilled with the buffet food prepared by Caroline and so were my guests. The birthday meal received many compliments from my family and friends and the poached salmon was particularly popular together with the great selection of salads and refreshing fruit kebabs, especially as it was such warm weather. We used Peppers for the wedding of our son and daughter-in-law in a marquee at a riding stables. Their approach was not only professional, but very personal and helpful with great attention to detail. We had a Vintage tea served to over 120 people and there were numerous comments from guests as to how much they had enjoyed it. The food was excellent and was served in difficult conditions with heavy rain at times. Their service during the event was seamless while also being totally unobtrusive. Every single person thoroughly enjoyed the reception and this was in large part due to Peppers' excellent service. We cannot thank them enough for making it a day that our son and daughter-in-law will remember for the rest of their lives and many will remember with great fondness. We needed a caterer to provide food and serve drinks for about 40 people at our Mum’s wake in September 2018. Peppers was recommended by a good friend who used them under similar circumstances a couple of years before. Firstly, I was touched by the sensitivity that Caroline showed following our loss. She never appeared to be in a rush and took numerous long calls to discuss our requirements and make sure everything was just right. She was also able to accommodate last minute changes which was very useful. When we returned from the crematorium, it was so comforting to see Caroline and her husband looking smart and politely serving prosecco to all our guests. The food looked and tasted amazing and every one commented on how good it was. When the guests started to leave, Caroline checked with us and then started to pack up, thoughtfully leaving extra snacks in our fridge for later in the evening. The bottom line was, we wanted someone who would just turn up, in our garden, provide all the catering and serve drinks after the funeral and then tidy it all up afterwards, without us having to lift a finger. Caroline and her team provided vintage cream tea for our wedding of 72 guests, it was outstanding; she is an exceptional chef. But it wasn’t just the food, Caroline worked with us to understand how she and her staff could provide the service which would be right for our wedding. Sorry for the delay in sending our thanks for the wonderful catering you did at our daughter's November wedding. You were so helpful every step of the way, from helping to choose their. menu , to being amazingly calm when all the electrics blow at the venue on the eve of the wedding. The food received so many compliments from the guests. Being a November wedding and wanting warm and filling foods, the Beef stew with dumplings, sausage casserole and the mushroom and walnut pie all went down a treat. As did the desserts. You and your team were nothing short of amazing at our wedding. We particularly appreciated your super-efficiency in our pre-meetings - you didn’t miss a trick and were on top of everything. We felt totally confident that everything would run smoothly. And it did. On the evening, not only was the food delicious and exactly to our taste, the efficiency, politeness and, above all, patience of you all was beyond expectation. We really held you up with our late running, but you stayed unflustered and professional, then cleared up so we had nothing but a few glasses to pack away in the morning. We ask Peppers to provide us food for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary Celebrations last Friday at short notice. Peppers provide a lovely spread which everyone enjoyed and we were delighted with the service.

Right from the start. when we had no idea what we wanted, through to our wedding day Caroline was absolutely fantastic! The home-made food, service and attention to detail was outstanding - even for a large drinks party of 70 - I would highly recommend Peppers.

They have been very helpful in helping me decide what would be best for our needs regarding the food.

We have had lunch here a couple of times in recent months whilst on our way from Honiton to visit family in Bath. The food is well prepared, reasonably priced and efficiently served. The manager/ waiter could usefully buff up on his 'people skills' a bit we felt and whilst being quite efficient is a little brusque. the place is well supported by the locals. More...

Being in Shepton Mallet over lunchtime and not knowing it, we decided to have lunch at the Haskins Café. However we walked down the High Street and discovered Peppers, an independent deli and café. I thought, being independent, maybe they put more of their hearts into it. The café was empty when we went in, never a good sign, but within 20 minutes it was almost full (on a Monday lunchtime). My tagiatelli with tomato sauce and a green salad was excellent, nicely served in a bistro kind of way and the green salad was clearly freshly prepared. My wife doesn't usually order quiche but this one, a double Gloucester and red onion was declared one of the best she had had. Well worth visiting. More...
