Recently I had the un-enviable task of organising a surprise event for a group of friends whose land mark birthdays all coincided close together! My dilemma was that they all had differing tastes and this also had to be a surprise, so as you can imagine finding a venue to cover all was proving difficult! I came across Dave and Peninsula catering and not only were they very accommodating to all the above requests I found the food quality and presentation superb easily comparable to any top restaurant but in my opinion much better value with a great personal touch! Dave at Peninsula couldn't do enough for my daughters christening. They even made special biscuits to match the meaning of our daughters name and everyone on the day were exceptionally complimentary about many aspects the overall food.

I employed Peninsular Catering for my daughter's christening and it was the best decision (and money spent). Dave was friendly and professional both during the lead up to the christening and at the christening when he was setting up and serving the food. He listened to the ideas I had in regards to the food, and then also made suggestions. Furthermore, he personalised the food to my daughter, baking acorn shortbread biscuits with pink icing as a surprise (as I told him in conversation that we called her our acorn). I know for a fact you would not get this sort of personalised and thoughtful service from many caterers. All of our guests raved about the food (in particular the chilli, sausage roll and all of the desserts!) and were extremely complimentary. I honestly could not fault the service and delicious food provided by Peninsular, and it made my daughter's day very special. More...

What’s your signature dish?
Our customers always say our chocolate brownie is the best they have ever tasted so I would have to say that.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
I understand that catering isn't a one size fits all industry, that's why our buffet menus come with a range of options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. Then of course for clients who want a completely unique experience, we offer bespoke packages where we sit down with them and discuss all ideas that they have and we can create the perfect menu together.
What do you love most about your job?
I love food- preparing it, eating it and most of all the reactions I get from other people when they sample what I have created.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was fed up with working for other people and decided that I could build a business myself which provides excellent food at an even better price point.
