Personal Trainers

Working with Anthony was great, he knows his stuff, and explains why we do certain exercises and why we eat certain things for optimum training and recovery. The knowledge which he possesses is very valuable and informative. Managed to loose 17kg in 5 months while getting stronger. Got the results I wanted and was happy, and I am still continually progressing in my training with him. Workouts were practical, and gave extremely helpful advice for diet and practical lifestyle changes. Being new to the gym he made everything easy and made me feel welcomed and not feel intimidated. Anyone who’s looking for a trainer has come to the right place, just trust the process be patient and do what he tells you. Ant has been my coach for over a year now and I’m so happy I made the decision to go with him! I’ve been training with Anthony for 7 months and words can’t explain how happy I am to have chosen him as my personal trainer. From day one he was pushing the maximum out of me and we kept progressing with every day forward. I managed to lose over 20kg even tho when I started working with him I thought I will give up after couple days.. He is an amazing PT! Will always try to go that extra mile for you, works hard, pushes you, gives the motivation when you need it and always makes sure you’re okay. I been training with Anthony for last 12 weeks , when I started I had lots of pain in my foot and knees.If I walk only few steps I will struggle to get up from bed next morning, so I have to cycle everywhere. I got 2 little kids so not be able to walk with them was very difficult for me as we used to go for long walks before. So I decided to get some advice and help from personal trainer. Anthony is polite and very funny. His mum can be really proud of him , you don’t see young boys like him very often these days . Hi never tells me off, but also never feel sorry for old fossil like me 🤣. I completed the New Year 8 week online challenge. Ant provided me with 4 week training plans, weekly recipes & a better understanding of my diet. The online guidance helped me to stay on track & gave structure to my training. It was also a great way to back into the gym after a year off. Would definitely recommend. Anthony helped me towards losing several kgs and MANY inches off my waist just in time for my wedding :) I’ve always been on the chubby side and was starting to lose hope that anything could be done in the month that I had left before the big day. He helped me regain the hope by being enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. He has a passion for his work and you can tell he genuinely cares about helping you so he’ll push you quite a bit as a result, but he does do his best to make the sessions as enjoyable as possible (even for someone like me who absolutely hates the gym)! He keeps close track of your progress and he’ll work with you to make a plan tailored to you but he’ll also keep coming back to the plan and checking that it’s working for you.
What I appreciate the most is that he’s easy to talk to and easy to contact if you need any advice outside of the sessions. He also does his best to work around a busy schedule and offers online sessions too.
Not only did I look and feel so much better on the day but he’s also motivated me to continue the weight loss with his guidance since. I’m really starting to change my life as a result. All good, health & long lasting progress isn’t going to be an overnight fix and that’s why I really recommend trying Anthony out as he’ll help you with your short & long term goals without making false quick fix promises... he certainly helped me to change my life.

Really great trainer! He’s super knowledgable about the anatomical and functional aspect of training (he doesn’t just throw a bunch of moves together :)). In other words, he’s not just a dude that likes to workout… he actually knows what he’s talking about! So if you’re looking for a real trainer, you’ve found one. He can be nice or he can push you a little harder. And he’s always open to answering questions, so your training can go as in-depth as you’d like because he can explain things in as much detail as he is capable of doing.
And he’s super duper chill, so 10 out of 10 if you ask me :) I’ve worked with him for 8 weeks so far and have pushed a deadlift from 115 to 150kg.. (not familiar with weightlifting lingo, but he says that’s good so 🤷‍♀️... obviously, he’s a great pick :))

I have currently signed up to ten PT sessions with Anthony, I have just completed session number 2 and I have never worked so hard in my life. Anthony is extremely good at his job he is very informative and motivational, I for one would never work as hard without Anthony's support. The following day I ache all over which shows that I have done a good workout! He pushes me even when I moan that I can't go on, complain that I feel sick and continually ask how long I have left!!!!
On our first consultation session Anthony informed me he was going to weigh and measure me, I was mortified he is younger than my son, I was concerned that he would not take me seriously as I am nearly 50 and not exactly skinny, but not once did he make me feel inferior!!! Anthony put me totally at ease throughout the whole session, I came away feeling very positive. If anyone is thinking of having PT sessions with Anthony it is money well spent and you won't regret it. I am looking forward to the day he takes my measurement and I am half the size

I have been working with Anthony for five weeks now and in that time I have seen such incredible change. I started off as a gym avoider, completely clueless and in dire need of direction which he has definitely provided! I have lost in excess of a stone, 10cm off my waist and my fitness and general wellbeing have improved immensely. Anthony's expectations are high but if you put the effort in to meet them his results really do speak for themselves. Not limited to physical development Anthony is also fantastic at making me feel welcome and valued- for someone who at first found the gym a daunting, intimidating place this has been incredibly important to me. I had 8 weeks worth of 1:1 personal training sessions with Anthony, and enjoyed every minute of them. Anthony makes you work towards your goals, but is mindful of limitations too. No session was dull or boring. I have gained so much knowledge on both exercise and better eating, and am truly grateful. Having been a yo-yo dieter for years, it was refreshing to have an over-haul of my eating habits and behaviour – I introduced wholewheat pasta, more protein, and more food too – I was never hungry, the increase in food was needed as I saw the benefits of higher energy levels very quickly, and I lost over a stone in fat, despite numerous real life events that prevented me staying focussed – weddings, birthdays, get-togethers etc.,
My sessions including deadlifts, leg exercises, squats, with and without weights, slam ball sessions, circuits, leg extensions, boxing, lunges both with and without weights, HIIT, planks, press-ups, core strengthening, rope exercises and many many more – sessions were definitely challenging, and Anthony would increase the repetitions and/or weights with my permission! Anthony focussed on technique and strength, and his knowledge is invaluable. I have used PT’s in the past who stand and watch you run for 20 mins on a treadmill, Anthony does not do that. His philosophy is ‘let me teach you and encourage you – you can do the treadmill on your own’.
Each week, Anthony would review the week I had had, then create a personalised program for me – updating this during sessions. Anthony was more than happy to share this information with me.
The initial session consisted of a mini-test to check my fitness levels, measurements were taken, weight noted. Anthony returned to these 3 areas every 4 weeks, recording progress. Anthony takes pride in his Clients, and wants you to succeed. Anthony is very focused, and is definitely not motivated by money. His charges are very very reasonable. For me, the journey will continue, achieving the loss I had dreamed of and energy I could never have imagined, Anthony has motivated me to keep improving – I’ll be booking more sessions very soon!!

This is my first time to work with a personal trainer. My personal training with Anthony has been of great benefit to me. Anthony is very supportive, patient, and approachable, yet professional and clearly an expert in his knowledge and skills .

There's no question that Anthony knows exactly how to train you to get the most out of your body. My level of general fitness was the first thing I noticed that had improved and I’m now working towards toning up my body. He will push you beyond your mental and physical limits. He come ups with amazing circuits that leave me sore for a week though HAHAHHA :p

And he keeps me laughing always, and adds a fun element to every workout to keep me motivated and working at my peak. The service is friendly, relaxing and very professional. That’s why I enjoy every session very much with Anthony!!

I looked forward to every appointment. If you use this man’s services it will be money worth spent.

I've had personal training in the past, but nothing like the training I've received from ant! At first I just wanted to improve my fitness, then a month in I was determined to drop a dress size to get into a bridesmaid dress for my best friends wedding! Ant helped me out majorly, tailored a unique nutrition plan and pushed me to the max on my training sessions. In just 3 weeks I lost just over half a stone and a total of 22cm from all over my body...and best of all I dropped down to the dress size I was aiming for and felt amazing on my friends wedding day! Ant really knows his stuff...and although you'll undoubtably hate him during your sessions (haha!) I guarantee with the results he can get you, you won't regret hiring him. I have been training with Anthony for around 6 weeks now and I am so happy that I found him.

Before training with Anthony I was the laziest person ever where as now I look forward to every session. The changes I have seen in the short space of time are amazing and his knowledge around what he trains is great.

He keeps me motivated throughout the whole session and pushes me to do far more than I ever thought I could do. I am not very good at being told what to do but the way he manages me makes me want to push harder.

I also have great banter throughout the session with him and really enjoy the laughs we have whilst training which takes my mind off what I am doing and before I know it the session is over and I've done an hour of hard training.

I would highly recommend anyone who wants to get fit but is struggling to come see him, great lad, great knowledge and great motivator.

What a fabulous personal trainer! Anthony is professional and has really pushed me beyond my limits. With each session planned to get the best out of me I have achieved so many things I would never have even thought of doing at the gym. Anthony makes every session manageable and most importantly fun. Working out shouldn't be boring and Anthony homes in on that (even if it's at the cost of my regional accent! I always avoid weights with the thought that it will bulk me up, and thats not my goal. But when I met Anthony he explained to me everything and how it is just impossible as a female, unless I've been training for so long. I trusted him and asked him to be my PT. I've trained with him for 8 weeks. When I do weights by myself, I never go beyond 40kgs, but then Anthony helped me push myself further. During our first few sessions, I managed to squat with 85kg, and gradually increase it every session. On my last session with him, I managed to squat with 120kg, which I myself cant believe. He made me realised how strong I am and how much I can push myself from doing things I didnt know I can do. He's been such a good trainer, and is very friendly. I wouldnt have stopped training with him if only I could stay in Leicester. Seriously, best personal trainer ever!

P.S. ask him for food/restaurant recommendations, he's an expert on that �

I have found Anthony to be a fantastic personal trainer. He is unassuming and friendly, and I have learnt so much from him in the short time he has been my personal trainer. For a detailed account of my experience, please do read on. I recently joined Pure Gym St. George’s Way Leicester, as it is opposite where I live. I have always done outside sports - predominately running on the streets as opposed to the treadmill. I have had a misconception about gyms for many years, convincing myself that I didn’t like them, when in fact I hadn’t given one a proper chance. An injury and the inability to run coincided with Pure Gym opening up opposite my home. I decided to join, and be open minded to the possibilities that exist in the gym. Upon my first session after signing up, I felt like a duck out of water. I was very conscious that I didn’t know gym etiquette, and I wasn’t sure how to use the machines and all the free weights correctly, ensuring that my technique was good. I didn’t want to injure myself due to not using the equipment properly, and I wanted to know how to use the facilities properly, to maximise potential for significant progress. I decided to enrol on a circuits class, and Anthony was the trainer. He was extremely attentive to all the people that attended the class, and he made sure he helped those who didn’t have the right technique. After the class, I chatted with him about my situation, and I asked him about taking one to one classes. He was very informative and encouraging without pushing me into paying for personal sessions. I decided to pay for 10 sessions up front to get a discount. It wasn’t until I arrived at the gym for my first session that it dawned on me that if I didn’t like the first session, then I would be in a bit of an awkward situation having paid for a further nine sessions! I’m pleased to report that it never become an issue, as I was absolutely delighted with how my first session went with Anthony. Being a teacher myself, I understand the importance of praising and encouraging students. Anthony naturally did that in abundance, without his praise sounding forced or insincere. He intuitively recognised what I would be able to manage, and challenged me without overwhelming me. He was continuously encouraging and he paid close attention to my technique to ensure that I was lifting weights correctly. My second session with him was equally positive, and by the end I felt like I had worked out in gyms for years. This is all down to the fact that Anthony has put me at total ease in a new and what was initially a daunting environment. As well as being encouraging, I have found Anthony to be very knowledgable. He tells me what muscles I am working on prior to each session, which is part of a mapped out plan based on my needs. I like how he demonstrates how to use all equipment, which is great for me, as I am a visual learner. If my technique isn’t right, he will always make me aware, and help me make the necessary adjustments to ensure I am lifting weights safely and in a way that will give me maximum benefit. Lastly, he is friendly and amiable, and extremely professional. He is very good at what he does, and whatever your personal situation, I have no doubt that he will help you make progress and leave you in a far better place than you were when you started out. I hope this review gives you information that will help you make an informed decision. Of all the personal trainers I've had over the years, Anthony is by far the most knowledgable and dedicated. He always plans your workout in advance and tailors it to your exact goals. The gym is great, very spacious but I feel like they could put more resistance training machines in there, there are a lot of cardio machines which is good though. The weights and equipment and benches are most of the time all over the place (put the equipment back after use guys!) so it can be quite a nuisance sometimes to find the other, for example, dumbbell you need for your exercise. I love going to this gym so much, the environment is so nice its clean the people are respectful being a smaller guy myself it can be quite daunting going to a gym with a lit of really big strong guys but in this gym they are so respectful of everyone. I go with my friend and we both think the same things about this gym. Its never to over crouded and the doors to get in make it so easy to use and more relaxing. I love helping people, I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t. It feels great when you know your helping someone become more confident, less anxious, healthier and stronger.
