I contacted Steph from Paws4asecond.co.uk as my 10 month old labradoodle puppy would jump up people coming to the house and also outside when walking her. Steph advised me on a number of ways to help stop this which I found invaluable. She also advised on recall which my puppy was having trouble with. I would recommend her unreservably., to solve any dog problems your dog is experiencing. She is an excellent dog trainer. More...
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love about my job the most is watching the dog learn something new. You can see it click with the dog what it needs to do all of sudden and the owners delight as they see their dog learning is brilliant. Dogs are so clever.
What inspired you to start your own business?
From age 12 when I want dog training with our new puppy I have been interested in dog training and have trained my own dogs over the years. However over the last 10 years through watching great dog training television programmes this has renewed that passion and following a change in my life circumstances I have been able to train as a dog trainer and fulfill a life's ambition.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients should pick me as I am passionate about what I do. I am also determined to find solutions to help owners change the unwanted behaviour they are experiencing with their dog. I use positive reinforcement techniques as I really believe they are much more effective and the dog will be happy to learn rather than learn through fear. When ever I return for a second visit or it's the second class the dogs are pleased to see me. Even very fearful dogs gradually are happy when I arrive. As a trainer I see my role as offering my experience, knowledge, support and guidance to the owners as together we work through any difficulties.
Individual training
I offer one to one support either at the persons home or out and about. I help owners understand why their dog may have the unwanted behaviours. By using positive reinforcement and management techniques help the owner change this behaviour. The session is for 2 hours with any follow-up sessions an hour long.
