Good and a verity of food option but was not impressed with the taste of the food. Perhaps just not toy taste buds! Sitting area very small and not very comfortable. Staff was very friendly.

CHARMING place with good service.Delicious food but frankly i have had similar meals in Istanbul for fraction of the price and liked them more. The focaccia came rather cold. Wir haben uns bei Ottolenghi Islington sofort wohlgefühlt. Aufmerksame Bedienung, unaufdringlicher Service.Das Essen war sehr gut, wir waren zu dritt und haben uns verschiedene Starter und Essen geteilt. Zu dem Dessert gab es für unseren Sohn eine köstliche Schokolade, deren wundervoller Geruch mir jetzt noch in Erinnerung ist. We have been waiting to go to this restaurant in upper street for ages ,it gets booked up rather quickly, we finally got to go and it didn't disappoint. A small but very good selection of meat,fish and of course vegetarian they do small plates and are advised to order two each .The portion size are very good and the pricing is very reasonable, The house white rioja is lovely and less than £28.00 .The staff are all very friendly and there is a good buzz in the restaurant. The food was good - some dishes were better than others of course, but I love the complexity and interesting combination of flavors. I've no idea why anyone would complain of small portions. My friend and I each ordered a main with 2-3 salads. Each portion was sufficient to generous. We also each ordered a dessert and coffee. Each dessert was fantastic. Really lovely crumb and great flavors for my cake.The seating was limited but we managed a seat inaide at the community table. The people we sat beside were lovely. We had wonderful conversation.The service was friendly and attentive. When I recognized the name of a chef, our server had him come out to meet us. It was an embarrassing fangirl moment, but I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness and time dedicated to us. Wonderful selection of salads, it was so hard to choose! The baked goods are also to die for - and laid out so nicely in the front window. It’s a great place for a girl’s lunch, or somewhere to take your parents. Middle Eastern / Mediterranean fusion, fresh, high quality ingredients and excellent taste. Very friendly staff, and I love to stop by for brunch (either weekend or sneaky middle of the week business brunch), or a no fuss takeaway after a busy day. Eating healthy is possible if you can swing by Ottolenghi. My favourites are the salmon scrambled eggs and the aubergine salad.
