What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It depends on the type of photography. When photographing events, or people it's about capturing a moment of interest or excitement in time. Simple things are happening all the time, but when they are captured at the right moment, it can make all the difference.
Photographing products, or still scenes like architecture, it is most important to take your time and create an aesthetically pleasing image. this involves using techniques like leading lines and symmetry.
Taking pictures of products are similar, but it involves dressing the scene to accommodate and emphasise the subject. It's also very important to understand what the product does and how the client wants the brand to be represented. This way it can be seen in the best light from both parties.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the event for? Company, brand, family party, wedding.
Now I know what capacity the shoot is for.
Where and how would you like these images, videos to be used? Book, website, social media.
Now I know most of the requirements on my end and it can be a smooth photoshoot!
What do you love most about your job?
Simply taking pictures and creating things. Creating a good image that satisfies the client is always a good feeling.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The thought of not creating things for myself, makes me sad. I've always wanted to make something for myself.
