Each week working with Lauren I walked away feeling empowered for the days ahead and grateful for my decision to invest in the most important thing, myself and mental wellbeing. The whole process was smooth and efficient and I felt in excellent hands throughout. Lauren has excellent interpersonal skills which put me at ease from our first meeting, and I felt I could trust and depend on her - knowing she had my best interests at heart. For years depression had kept me on a tight leash, never reaching the light at the end of the tunnel, feelings of complete and utter failure as a friend, daughter, wife, mother……human. Feeling that each day was something “to get through”, merely existing, not being “present” with family. Dark thoughts regularly occupied my mind, often feeling like a shadow, fading into the background, working on auto pilot. I knew things needed to change but too exhausted to see what help there was out there. It was my husband who introduced me to Lauren and for that I’ll be forever grateful. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sounded like a “fad” and “not for me”, but after reading testimonials and hearing how well my husband had got on, I summoned up the courage and made my first appointment. Lauren has an extremely calming nature, you are at ease immediately in her company. After the first session I left feeling like I’d taken the first step out of the cave I had created. I felt just maybe a life did exist outside of the darkness. Taking the time to concentrate on myself felt so refreshing, beginning to understand how the brain functions led me to believe things could change. Lauren is nothing but a dedicated professional and with that comes a great sense of compassion and care. I saw Lauren for several sessions for my anxiety, not only did Lauren put me at ease in a beautiful setting, but her smile and voice have the ability to make you instantly feel relaxed. With help form Lauren, I was able to build a business and gain control of my mind state, allowing my confidence to grow and my anxiety issues to be a thing of the past. I’d highly recommend Lauren. Working together has completely transformed my thought process and daily life. From the start she made me feel welcome and at ease which helped tremendously. Talking to Lauren, discussing goals and using positive language to re-train my mind helped me adjust my mental attitude towards life’s daily challenges and my reaction to certain things. The hypnotherapy instantly calms my mind leaving an incredible, refreshing... relief for me. Every time I come away feeling totally relaxed and empowered to be able to regain control of my mindset. I was very dubious about trying hypnotherapy but after seeing a post on Facebook recommending Lauren at Oak View I followed her for a while whilst I procrastinated. I have been for counselling in the past and felt patronised and even more down than before. I decided to give Lauren a go thinking I would just have the introductory session and if I didn't like it would stop there. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Lauren's not interested in your past so you don't have to drag up all the horrors in your life (and believe me I've had loads!) she's interested in how you want to feel. My goodness after one session I felt the best I had in years. No more thinking that I'll be happy when I'm thin or when I win the lottery etc. Just living in the moment and enjoying it. There is still rubbish out of my control going on in my life but I am more in control of my emotions and better equipped to deal with what life throws at me. I can't thank Lauren enough for what she has done for me. I highly recommend her to everyone whatever your issues. More...

I cannot speak highly enough about Lauren. She got my sleep back into a normal pattern for the first time in decades, in a simple science/factual based style so you understand in great detail how the brain works. Not being fatigued all the time gave me resilience back, without which the stress of Covid and lock down would almost certainly have put me in a whole world of pain. Thanks Lauren, you rock More...

I approached Lauren for help with improving my eating habits initially. Lauren was thorough with her approach to understanding the problem, looking for underlying factors, not simply focusing on the sole issue I presented. This led to an initial focus on improving my sleep quality, and only then, with the improvements in thinking that came with that better sleep, helping me develop and build on my own methods for approaching the original issue. I have noticed many positive benefits, and the focus on building personal strategies, rather than a one technique fits all, was key. This enabled me to continue to use and develop the approaches Lauren had equipped me with during the COVID-19 lockdown, which has been hugely beneficial in managing stress levels. I would absolutely recommend Lauren, and her excellent delivery of solution focused hypnotherapy to anyone trying to improve sleep, develop habits, manage stress and anxiety, and more. More...

I had sessions with Lauren to help ease my anxiety and constant battle with over thinking everything and worrying about what could happen instead of enjoying what should be a happy time. But anyway after doing weeks of one on one hypnotherapy sessions once a week with Lauren it definitely helped my thinking, changed my way of life. I still get anxious from time to time but I just think of the sessions we’ve had and it just goes. I was anxious about hypnotherapy at the time but Lauren put me at ease and I have full trust in her. I couldn’t recommend her enough for how professional she is, how much patience she has and her passion for making us reach our targets. I’ll be definitely going back. More...

I made contact with Lauren having seen a posting on LinkedIn regarding optimising sleep. My sleep pattern had been slowly deteriorating over a period of time to the point where I was awake more than asleep most nights. I found I was spending a good part of the night over analysing my day and becoming incredibly frustrated and negative.Lauren is amazing and I found the way she explained the workings of the brain, and the fact that we can rewire it, fascinating. We started working together and the results have been amazing. Lauren works in a very calm but focussed way, at all times concentrating on the positives. My sleep pattern has vastly improved, if I do wake up I don't stay awake.I can't thank Lauren enough and would certainly recommend her services. More...

I can't recommend Lauren enough, her positive, calm and professional approach has literally changed my life. For the first time in many years I feel calm, relaxed and living in the present. I so looked forward to each session, developing my understanding of the brain and why I felt so anxious, the wonderful aromatherapy blends and the relaxation session. It is amazing how an hour with Lauren every two weeks has made such an impact and made such positive changes to my life. When life is so busy it is so easy to just exist and get by but Lauren has helped me to adjust my thinking and find pleasure in everyday life again. If you need to find your zing again, I highly recommend Lauren – and what’s more, you’ll enjoy doing it and learning about yourself in the process! I’m now feeling like me again, able to calmly tackle any curveball and I even won an award at work for the positive energy I bring to my clients and colleagues!! This is a massive change from how I was in September - I had been feeling anxious, nervous, over tired and stressed for over a year. I couldn’t quite pin point why and was seriously wondering about my mental health when I heard about Lauren and Oak View Hypnotherapy.I had personally tried to alleviate these issues that were plaguing my life by cutting out alcohol, avoiding social occasions, sleeping more, using my phone less but none of this had worked. I am still sleeping well after seeing Lauren in the summer, this is something I will be forever grateful for and if the issue occurs again I believe the tools Lauren has given me will help me get back on track, and even if that didn't work, I know that I can call Lauren and book another wonderful session with her and will most definitely be able to get back to a good nights sleep.

I will always be forever grateful to Lauren. For a long time, a really long time, I suffered with anxiety which would rapidly turn into panic attacks, hyperventilating and uncontrollable shakiness. This would be over anything and everything. Real life events or even imaginative stories I had made up in my head.I never talked about it, I just tried to deal with it silently and tried to control it by myself. This made things even worse. Eventually I could feel myself trapped almost in a hamster ball with no way of escaping.I read a review one day from one of my friends, who could not speak highly enough of Lauren and after discussing she recommended me to see Lauren.I am SO glad I did and not that I knew it at the time, but on the 25th September my life was about to change.Each session starts with an essential oil blend and an explanation as to why these have been chosen and how they benefit. Followed by a chat about all of the positive things that have happened in that week and what I would like to achieve from the session, as well as on recapping on how the brain works and why these thoughts are happening. Then ending with the remaining half of the session in a wonderful, warm, relaxing, perfect room, drifting into a hypnotherapy, trance like sleep under a cosy blanket in a big leather reclining chair.I can now honestly say that I am back to where I was. I am me again. My face hurts from smiling. I have learned to feel excitement again!Lauren is an amazing person, so kind and so calm. There is no judgement from her at all. I initially asked for Laurens help when I became anxious about presenting a weekly brief to my boss and a number of work colleagues (approx. 50 people). I had also feared flying for a number of years, which was beginning to feel like a real burden. Lauren was brilliant. She opened every appointment with a very comprehensive explanation into the way the brain works, why I was feeling and reacting the way I was and how therapy would help me change my mindset to make these better experiences in the future. I initially decided to visit Oak View Hypnotherapy because I became anxious when presenting a weekly brief to my boss and a number of work colleagues (approx. 50 people). My anxiety increased over a number of weeks and I started to experienced the dreaded ‘disco leg’ when I stood up in front of an audience. It got so bad I would hate the thought of having to do it again the next week. I didn’t want it to rule my life and decided to approach Lauren for her help. It was after this therapy session that I asked if she could help with tackling my fear when flying and she recommended the Phobia Busting Package.In both cases, I was getting fed up of just surviving and realised that my negative thoughts were adversely taking over my life. I dreaded going into work on a Monday morning and would become more anxious the closer I got to my flight date. Although I knew my thoughts were totally unreasonable, it made very little difference in the way I tried to handle the situation. I was open to any suggestion to overcome these fears.I will be totally honest, I didn’t think solution focused hypnotherapy would work for me but I was desperate to try anything and I’m glad I did. Lauren opened every appointment with a very comprehensive explanation into the way the brain works, why I was feeling and reacting the way I was and how therapy would help me change my mindset to make these better experiences in the future. I started realising that hypnotherapy was working when I didn’t care about having to give a brief and slightly enjoying a flight. I am still giving the Monday morning brief, which has become so much easier for me and I am looking forward to my flight to Tenerife in December. I now take the Monday morning brief in my stride. I am no longer anxious days leading up to it and I am so much more confident when doing it, I have even given 2 briefs some Monday mornings. In terms of flying, I flew 1 week after therapy and it was a much nicer experience. I have flown again since and I have a flight in December. I’ve suffered for years with low self- confidence, low self- esteem and a feeling that I’m never good enough at anything I do. I’ve had many different types of counselling and therapy but nothing seems to quite get to the bottom of it. I’d been to a couple of Lauren’s relaxation sessions at work and felt rested and refreshed by them so came to see if hypnotherapy could help me. I really liked Lauren’s explanation of why I always reacted the way I did, and why I always felt so tense. It was so reassuring to realise there was an actual reason for how I was feeling, and not only that but there was a simple way to fix it. I admit I really struggled to start with to think of anything nice or good that happened in the week because I was so used to dwelling on what was wrong, but being made to come up with something (and never let off the hook) got me used to really thinking about it. Instead of going over and over how the world has done me wrong I get to come up with how I can solve a problem I have, by looking at it from a different perspective. I realised that hypnotherapy was working when I was called into a meeting by my boss for a telling off, and instead of bursting into tears and feeling victimised, as I usually do, I was able to calmly explain how the issue had arisen, what my thought processes had been, and that I’d realised it hadn’t been appropriate and taken steps to fix it, before it had come to my boss’s attention. We came out of the meeting laughing. I wake up in the mornings now not worrying about the day ahead, and with no sore jaw having not been grinding my teeth in the night. I am not getting so wound up about what might happen, and instead trying to take life as it comes. I feel much calmer and not so stressed. I will miss the lovely relaxing session in the fabulous recliner chair with the essential oils. More...

You’re in safe hands with Lauren! She has a joyfully positive energy and a thorough understanding of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, as well as life experience and a career background which add to her knowledge and professionalism. Investing in Hypnotherapy means that I now feel increasingly energised and largely anxiety free, which is life changing and I am able to bounce back from stress or upset far quicker with calmness and positivity.I honestly didn’t know anything about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, but was open minded and wanted to try an alternative to CBT counselling, which I had tried in the past for my anxiety. As my anxiety became more difficult to manage after the birth of my son, I knew something had to change.After only 5 sessions, Lauren has given me an understanding of the science of how the brain works in relation to anxiety, which has been central to my success. I am able to recall what Lauren has taught me to rationalise negative thinking and can feel the benefits. I can now seek out social activities which would have caused a lot of anxiety and panic in the past – such as attending large group activities with my son. Things that I would have avoided before, have now become easy which is allowing me to be the best Mum possible. This means the world to me.I will miss the ‘blissful’ trance element in our sessions, as I’ve come to the end of this period of therapy, and visiting her therapy room – which is a beautifully relaxing and calm space.
