What makes a great website?
There are a lot of factors that come into play with regards to a great website. First off you need to have a unique design that has the correct flow. This flow incorporates the use of fonts that compliment one another and that are relevant to your industry.
There needs to be enough space between elements for the design to breath, this makes reading the text, experiencing the design and functionality at it optimal level. The user experience needs to preform, this includes making all of the text copy and images SEO friendly. The speed of your website has an impact on your user experience as well as your SEO, make sure you don't go cheap and nasty when it comes to hosting.
Another factor that will speed up your website is having images that are web friendly, keeping in mind that your images need to be clear. As having the correct images makes a huge difference to the look of a website.
These factors always need to be taken into consideration as they make a great website.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
1- What’s the name of your Company?
2- What does your company do? What are the products and services you offer?
3- Who are the decision makers for this project? (ideally one person should be selected to communicate with us on your project)
4- What budget have you allocated for this project? Be honest and we will tell you what we can and can't do.
5- Give us your main reasons for needing a new website. (e.g. to be found online (brand exposure), to generate new business, to increase sales, to provided information, to sell products online, to reduce admin costs etc.)
6- Do you have a website? If so, please include the URL (link)
7- Is there anything about your current site that serves the business well and if so, why?
8- Tell us about your ideal customer or website visitor. Who are they? How old are they? What gender are they? Where do they hang out online? What are their interests?
9- What are the top 5 reasons your ideal customer will visit your website? [eg: research product information, get contact details, ask questions about services, pricing]
10- Design concept, describe the personality of your brand? [eg: Safe and secure, edgy and excited, corporate and professional, vintage, old fashioned, luxurious and up-market, exclusive and cool, homely]
11- Do your competitors have websites? Please include links:
