Working with Mike from the end of last year, my main goal was to work towards an improved, competitive and relative time for my 10km. Having had less than 6 months running experience I saw lots of improvement initially but had since plateaued. With Mike’s knowledge of specific training, encouragement and expert advice I was back on the right track and have since smashed 2 minutes off my 5km and 5 minutes off my 10km! I Couldn’t be happier with the results!! If you’re willing to push and train hard, put up with a slight dry humour with a seriousness built from dedication to running then Mike is your man! More...

Q&As

Key to helping clients achieve their goals is to listen! What is it they want to achieve? Understand about their lifestyle, family and work as this will guide how best to develop a training plan that will be practical and achievable for them. I don't believe in get fit quick solutions, we will focus on long term development in cardio improvement and overall functional strength and toning. I offer weekly reviews of how the training is going, text support and motivation and always happy to change elements of the training if they don't feel it is working for them or don't enjoy it.

Consistency! Doing lots for a few weeks will never be better than doing slightly less over the long term.

Seeing people enjoy exercise, come back each week and when they realise they can do things a few months earlier they thought impossible

I have always loved sport but with a young family and busy jobs I have also been out of shape and I know how hard it can be to find the time and motivation. But feeling great about yourself when you do get fit- I have a passion for helping people feel good and look good and achieve their fitness and running goals

At 43 years old, I have a lot more life experience and understand challenges of work and family and have also had periods of not being fit, eating too much and just not being motivated. This shapes how I work with people to keep it realistic and practical...but I will push people hard to achieve way beyond what they think is possible.
