We are so thankful for our wedding album from Horizons. Also, our friends say it's the best album they have ever seen. Lots of thoughts have gone into, The contrast is brilliant as the colors and the presentation. A very good quality and our families are so touched and delighted to have a copy as well. More...

Thank you Steffi / Phil for your kind words. We are so thrilled that everyone loved the photos and album design work. Making people happy with our work is what gives us a real buzz! Thanks again - Bill, New Horizons Photography

We had a family shoot done by Bill and his team. The challenge was to capture 15 people (of all ages from 1 -65) and a dog. Bill's enthusiasm and warmth made the session really enjoyable for everyone involved. The shots are fantastic - the perfect gift for grandparents who have always wanted a picture with everyone in it! we are really pleased with the results and would recommend New Horizons to anyone. Q&As

That depends on the type of photograph. For people photography it is mostly about expression and naturalness. Location and back drop are also important (you don't want branches or telegraph poles sticking out of your subjects' heads), though you can have the best location in the world, but if you can't connect with your subjects and get them relaxed, you don't have a photograph. Light source and direction are also important as you don't want shadows in the wrong places on faces.

For architectural and commercial photography, it is more about the technical side, and the client's objectives - what they want to achieve with the photograph. For example, does it need to have a particular marketing message? For this kind of photography we have technical (movements) camera equipment for straightening verticals and ordering perspective, coupled with a huge 80 mega pixel digital back to capture tons of information and tonality. Lighting is also more critical with this genre as individual features need to be highlighted and made to stand out. Different light types need to be matched (for example daylight and fluorescent) - and we have a wide range of different light types - flash and continuous, light balancing filters and so on - not to mention huge poles to put them on!

The main question is what "outputs" they want from the photography. Why do they want the photos and what do they want to do with them? The answer to this question totally affects the shooting style. For example, though this might sound strange, if we are shooting for a wedding album, we shoot entirely different shots than if we are shooting for a DVD for customers to print from themselves. When shooting for an album, we shoot with page layout in mind, whereas we shoot something "to be framed" if shooting for a DVD. Similarly, with commercial photography, what the client wants to do with the images completely affects the planning of the project. This all gets discussed and planned before the shoot ever starts.

Secondly we need to know what will make our customers really happy and delighted - as that is what we are about.

Thirdly, we need to understand the budget for the project as we will then tailor the services to fit what our customers want to spend.

In a nutshell, making customers really happy and delighted. Winning customers for life, and helping them achieve what they want. Of course we are in business to make a living - we have children to feed and bills to pay like anyone else - but we would truly rather make less profit and have a thrilled customer who will come back to us, and also recommend us to others.

We will always try and work with customers' budgets and objectives.

Being in control of our own destiny - deciding what we wanted to do, and when. We like working for ourselves rather than for others, and being able to take time out to do things we want to do. For example we have just returned from a month-long photo tour of China. We have hundreds or thousands of stunning images that we can use for all kinds of things - but importantly we were able to do this as and when we wanted to.

Our mission statement is to "thrill all our customers with everything we do". We are aiming to make you happy, and not just "take the money and run". We will do everything we can to achieve that, including re-shooting on the very rare occasions we need to.

We are ethical - we will not "rip you off", but will give a fair price for the work and skill involved. You may find a student or A level pupil who will do the work a bit cheaper, but they won't have the level of equipment and experience that we have, and probably won't have any spares. We aim to produce high end results in everything we do. We use similar rates for our time as other professional service providers like plumbers, plasterers, tilers and the likes.

New Horizons Photography are a professional caring organisation. We also carry all the insurances and safeguards that public venues will require. Because we work with children frequently we also all have (recently renewed) Enhanced DBS Police Checks.

Please give us a call and we will explain more (01673 862317) or text "PHOTO" to 07741401151 and we will call you. We look forward to speaking with you soon!

Services

New Horizons Photography specialise in Events Photography of all types - School Proms, Corporate Events, Parties etc. We travel nationwide to cover Corporate Events and School Proms. We always go the extra mile, seeking to make events portraits just as good as bespoke studio shoots. We use backgrounds bigger than anyone else we know of (6x6 metres), bigger and better softboxes, hair lights, fun posing, best in class on site printing, and post event online ordering available as well. One Headteacher in Liverpool commented at one of this year's school proms that in over 30 years she had never seen any photographer who did Prom Photography anything like as good as New Horizons Photography. We even managed to get all 70+ Year 13 girls on one portrait on one background and have subsequently done other commercial work for that school. The number of Events and Proms we cover is growing substantially year on year, and customers who use us once and see the job we do, always invite us back for their subsequent years' events. Every single school who booked us for their Prom this year has re-booked us for next year - all bar one within 2 weeks of this year's Prom taking place to make sure they didn't miss out. We look forward to discussing your bespoke requirements with you.

New Horizons Photography offer a quality wedding service tailored to each customer's needs, ranging from a simple few hours coverage before, during and after a ceremony, from £350 for our Limited Coverage Package, right up to our Platinum Package, and everything in between. We really will make the service fit with your requirements and budget. Our Platinum Package includes just about everything - except the spouse (!) - large Designer Italian Album tailored to your preferences, Albums for parents and grandparents, Designer USB with printing rights, large Wall Portrait and beautifully designed "Signing Book for the big day. Please get in touch for a bespoke quotation. We travel nationwide to cover weddings and our portfolio includes a celebrity wedding in London. For all except the most basic package, we offer all of our wedding clients a free engagement shoot. On that day we will meet you at the various wedding locations, run through shots we will do on the day, have a laugh with you, get to know you, get you comfortable with us, learn your style preferences, show you how to stand, hold the bouquet (brides only!) etc, etc. We meet the venue and the ceremony location with you, find out where we can work if the weather is poor (this is Britain after all so better prepared hey?), ensure the plans and timings work, and so on. We devote a full day to this and never charge for our time, though there may be a modest fuel cost depending on the distance. We then use these photographs to make a "Signing Book" or "Signing Frame" for the day itself where required, and often include some in the Album where customers want this.

We have not been with Bark for long but have just recently done such an Engagement Shoot for our first Bark Wedding Client. The couple's comments after seeing the images (taken at wedding locations and places of significance for them) was that they were "blown away" by the results. They are now very much ready for, and looking forward to, the wedding photography proper in December.

Our mission statement is to "absolutely thrill" our customers and we firmly believe that the engagement shoot is fundamental to getting the results we achieve. We also have brilliant album designers who design stunning bespoke contemporary or more traditional "feels" to the album. It must tell your story, and it will...

Our equipment is the very best available, including 80 mega pixel medium format, plus we carry spares of everything and a full mobile studio - just in case! There are many photographers who will just carry one consumer camera with a consumer grade lens (giving much less sharp images and far lower tonal quality, colour definition etc). We have been asked on several occasions to try to repair very poor quality wedding images. Even if you decide not to use New Horizons Photography, ask the right questions and know what you are getting. We are happy to answer questions and give advice - even to those who are not using us, as we believe firmly in "Reputation, Reputation, Reputation". If you would like to follow us on Facebook, I will shortly be posting a link to Free Wedding Photography tips.

New Horizons Photography are Portrait Specialists. We have been the selected Master Photographers' Association / Bounty "Cherubs" and "New Born" Photographers for Lincolnshire for several years and have many happy customers who return periodically for family shoots as their children grow. Some of our clients who have moved elsewhere in the UK still return to us for their Portrait Updates. One RAF mum commented that finding a good photographer who connects with the family and children was "like finding a good hairdresser". They prefer to travel some distance than change photographers. We have also been selected Platinum Photographers for portraiture from Activity Superstore, National Childbirth Trust, and similar.

We have a great studio location outside Lincoln, which is easy to get to and with parking right outside. We always allow plenty of time to get the shots you want, as customer satisfaction is by far and away the most important thing to us. And if we don't get great results first time around (it happens occasionally when children are teething and miserable, or through inclement weather), we simply reschedule and do the shoot again. Many High Street organisation will allow you just 15 or 20 minutes and you get what you get, but New Horizons Photography don't work like that. We want lifelong customers who are thrilled and blown away by what we do for you.

We also LOVE to do outdoor "location" portraiture - beaches, woods, farms, inner cities (urban), and so on. New Horizons Photography are fully equipped to get great outdoor portraits. We carry large battery powered studio flash units, plus a range of diffusers, sunbounces, reflectors, props, mobile studio - and the very best there is in camera gear. Studio Portraits are great, but we love nature and different seasons as well.

There are some examples of our work on the website but we would be happy to show you more if you would like to see them.
