I took my 6 month old cockapoo there for the first time last week and he came out looking beautiful. I had some reservations as he had previously had a bad grooming experience. Mucky Pups was recommended to me by a dog owner after I had a disastrous cut at another chain store groomers.Bu is 3/4 ShihTzu 1/4 Bichon Frisée so has quite a unique & difficult to style coat. Mucky Pups knew exactly the Teddy Bear look I was after & said it could be achieved in a few months. He was styled in a short ‘puppy cut’ to start & had his face shaped nicely in proportion. He was surprisingly well behaved (which speaks volumes about their expertise) & left looking, smelling & feeling adorable. I have now signed up to have him styled monthly & look forward to when he looks like a Teddy Bear More...

The two assistants who dealt with Max were exceptionally understanding, he is a very playful 10 month old. Previously in other groomers they found it difficult to bathe him but this time he was okay ! He even coped with the hair dryer on a lower setting which meant it took a little while to dry him but this did not bother them . I believe it was the relaxed atmosphere that helped Max to cope and the caring of the assistants. Well done Mucky Pups of Crwys road Cardiff . A truly wonderful dog grooming shop. I’ve taken my little fur baby to mucky pups in Cardiff twice now and she comes out looking amazing!! Her nails are perfect and she’s soooo soft! Loved the cut these guys gave my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels yesterday. They managed to fit in my last minute request, were really flexible about drop off and pick up and they look great. Professional and friendly team... would not go elsewhere.
I find it disgusting that friends & family of the dog owners who are making claims against "mucky pups" are jumping on the band wagon to slander and drag this palours name through the mud when they have never been to this palour before themselves. While you maybe defending your family or friend, remember there is 2 sides to every story and the most probable one is the fact that the dog owners failed to notce thier dogs skin condition and placed the blame elsewhere, that being the palour... Harlequins and mine first visit today to the salon was an eye opener. We have been to several salons finding the one that suits us best, she was allowed to wander around in a big open space while I was asked a few questions as to her skin, anything the girls should know medically before harley had her bath and groom. I was shown around and explained what different equipment they used and then discussed harlequins cut as we have had many misadventures with other salons in the past... Gingerly leaving and wondering what I was going to walk back too to go an hours shopping I left harley in capable hands... I was so pleased with the way she looked they listened to what I said and she was perfect with a little pink knotted scarf too top off her new hairstyle... Not only that they proceeded to inform me how well behaved she was and offered a promotion for every 4 weeks which I think is exceptional... Thank you girls and see you in 4 weeks... We took our 10 month old Border Collie puppy for her first hair cut to Mucky Pups last weekend. We phoned on the Saturday about getting an appointment and although they were fully booked, with the weather reaching such high temperatures the lady I spoke to on the phone kindly squeezed us in the same day! The service is amazing and they clearly care about the dogs. We really appreciated being fitted in the same day. Our Willow looks absolutely gorgeous now she’s had a trim and it has really helped with the heat we’ve been having.
When we arrived to collect Willow she was having a great time playing with the other doggies that were there which makes the whole thing a fabulous experience.

If reading the reviews please kindly ignore the vigilantly group that marked mucky pups with a one star. This is the best salon in the world they do an amazing job they are kind friendly and very caring. My dog was a nervous wreck and hated being cut but the owner took him under her wing and he ended up loving going there. They cut him beautifully and treated him with love and compassion. I would recommend this salon to everyone. It’s a shame that due to one dog not being looked after and cared properly by there owners that when the groomer noticed a skin problem after they had groomed the dog the owners are blaming the salon who when they came to pick the dog up notified them off the condition straight away...if you were a real true dog lover you would be grateful they noticed this before it got worse and more uncomfortable for your dog. I glad mucky pups took the time to make note of this condition as you state you took the dog to the vets and rightly so any skin condition for a dog can be unbearable for them, shame it took for a groomer to notice it and not the people that are meant to unconditionally love him. Yes being groomed probably did irritate it but you can’t blame mucky pups for that only yourself. All the staff at mucky pups are lovely and they do not deserve this disgusting harassment by you your friends and family you should be disgusted with yourselves I think you should concentrate on loving and looking after your dog not slandering the people that cared enough to notice it!!!!! Excellent friendly and genuinely passionate staff members. They did not stop fussing over my dog when she went for her groom which of course she loved! She was looked after with an excellent overall service and groom. I booked her in again on the four week scheme and I couldn’t believe the price and savings - definitely worth doing! We have used mucky pups grooming services for our springer spaniel max,max received a lovely cut,and staff paid attention to what was asked for as we didn’t want him to just have a typical short all over style. My boys always look incredible when they leave this salon.
The girls work so hard on them to make sure they look their very best. We have been taking our boys here for just over a year now would never take them anywhere else.
They got attacked a few months back couldn't be around other dogs, but the girls here took extra care and time with them and Leanne treated them like little princes.
Tegan (probably spelt wrong) is practically a dog whisperer. My boys hide under the pink chairs when I take them there but as soon as they see Tegan their tails start wagging. The other girls are fantastic as well but my boys seem to have a thing to Tegan.
