I started training with mike as a “new year new me” resolution. As most do when they acquire a personal trainer. What I never realised I signed up for was a best friend. I was suffering with an eating disorder and my life had fallen apart. I never believed that exercise could impact your life so much. Mike would call me and text me and push me not to just turn up to sessions but to ensure I was sticking to a meal plan and even sleeping! The kind of normality I thought was impossible. I started my journey with Mike many moons ago and I am now on the other side of the world and yet he is still there. Still checking on me and encouraging me to become a better version of myself. A person who accepts themselves and allows “treat days every day” and has helped me create a beautiful relationship with food which I never thought would be possible. Training with Mike changed my life and my outlook. I now spend my weekends exploring waterfalls or enjoying the beach and swimming or just taking in the beauty around me. The little things. I am a bartender by profession so I lead a very backward life style to most and even with that in mind he helped me better myself and helped me grow such confidence in my personal and professional life. I travelled to the other side of the world and still maintain a healthy relationship with my diet and myself. I grew into a person who was so much happier and pushed themself. It reminds me much like a child learning to ride a bike. He was my guidance and stabilisers throughout my journey and he still continues to be so ! I cannot put together the right words to describe the pure happiness and freedom he gave me in my life. Whether your goal is to lose some weight or gain some he will support you every step. Mike is not an everyday trainer he is a nutritionist, PT, top supporter, shoulder to cry on and that person who pushes you to do the unexpected he helps you gain that confidence without you even realising how far you’ve even come. If you have the chance to have Mike be your Yoda take it never look back. He will support and push you in ways you never realise of even notice ! I used to be a girl afraid to step into a gym because I wasn’t some crazy “in shape” body builder expecting judgement on my first step now I walk in with confidence and take those crazy looking machines with confidence because I was trained by the best. He’s been my mentor my biggest fan even if I’ve forgotten his order on a busy night! He was the only person who truly pushed me to better myself and I am forever thankful. More...

I have only attended a hand full of sessions with Mike so far, after looking at his work over the last year and what he does I decided to take the plunge, the gym is not new to me as I have been training my self for the last 6-7 years, I struggle with progression and feel as though the only improvement I have made is my fitness rather than my strength. Mike noticed right away that my posture and form was not correct, he took the time to explain and show me the correct way to do different exercise which made them 10x harder/more effective, I always felt too nervous to go to a PT , Mike instantly put me at ease and made me feel comfortable right away, not only do I enjoy my work out with him, but I enjoy listening to what he has to say and the conversations that flow with it. Working out is becoming less of a choir and more of a hobby I enjoy again, I feel like each exercise I do now has a purpose and is contributing towards my end goal due to the educational factor Mike has shared with me along with the physical stuff too, I am really looking forward too more sessions and working with Mike in order to build up my strength and get me back on track with my training, Thank you Mike ! I have been working with Mike for about 18 months, trying to improve fitness & lose weight. Since the start of 2019 that was focused on work to help me with preparations for cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats which I completed in August.
The sessions are well structured and varied with lots of different routines to keep up interest, and with his experience Mike is able to adapt seamlessly in the sessions to work around minor injuries or focus on particular areas.
My fitness and strength have improved hugely and I have lost ~20kg so I am very happy with the work that Mike has done with me.

Mike is knowledgeable, not only about training and techniques but also about how the body works and as a result his training is centred around function.

Due to his achievements in professional sport he has honed his skills based upon his own experiences and has personally helped me to build muscle and constantly set new PBs.

Today I doubled the amount I could squat when I first started with him. Massive gains but you’ve got to put the work in.

Don’t go thinking you can turn up, put in half a shift and not commit - go somewhere else if you want that. Go to Mike if you are willing to work and you will definitely get results.

My original goal was to be able to do a pull up and he’s taken me far beyond that.
