We had our photo shoot this morning and what a great time my daughter had! After countless practices of smiling nicely at home I was a bit worried about what the photographs would turn out like! There was no need to worry at all!! Matt did a great job of getting Ella to relax and got some great natural shots as well as some really good ones with props! We had an outfit change thrown in there too! Now comes the hard decision of deciding which ones we want to purchase! I would highly recommend to anyone that wants quality photos for a good price to have their photos done by backlash photography. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and made comfortable, with having a newborn,young step daughter and partner we were all catered for accordingly. The relaxed environment made it easy to relax and enjoy the shoot ending with a perfect result in quality photos. That much so that we are finding it hard to choose which ones we want. We met Matthew and explained the sort of photographs we wanted , natural, to capture us. We knew we didn’t want studio photos.
Matthew came up with a local spot to us , beautiful surrounds , sea of yellow which myself & hubby thought was a great idea.
He made us feel relaxed and at ease , captured us perfectly. Beautiful photographic memories of a very special anniversary.

I contacted Backlash Photography for a family shoot and right from the first phone call it was obvious that I had made the right choice going to these guys. They were extremely helpful and we're very informative from the start explaining everything fully. The shoot was amazing, relaxed and quite fun as well, Matt made us feel really relaxed and it was nice having no time limit to the shoot thus putting no pressure to get the photos done. The out come of the shoot was amazing and photos came out beautifully and wereed item to a very high standard. Price wise they are very reasonable considering the quality we received from them so we were very pleased. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photo is understanding the subject or client and getting know them. I ensure that every customer has a personalised experience and I take the time to get to know a little about my customer so I can tailor the images.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
One of my first question when talking to a new potential client is what do they want from the shoot. This gives me an overall idea of the type of composition, style and potential products they may want so that I can suit my skills to their needs.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is how different it can be from day to day and the people I meet through it. I have made a lot of new friends through my job purely because each of my customers isn't just a person I give a service too.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I originally started my own business purely because I pride myself on customer service and satisfaction and this was something I wanted to serve at my own level without the restrictions of a governing business.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients that choose to come to us for any photographic service will receive an honest, friendly and professional service that is tailored and structured around their needs and wants. I strongly believe that every customer requires a different service, package and skill set so I take pride in making it my job to cater individually for each of them.

I have 5 years plus experience in the field of photography. I have had a keen interest in photography from a young age and have greatly improved and adapted my skills and knowledge over the past 5 years. I am also competent in the area of Photoshop and image touch ups. I specialize in portrait retouches, digital photo manipulation, Damaged photo restoration and much more. I own Backlash Photography which caters for most types of photography work and I work closely with the customer to achieve what they are looking for. I am very competitively priced to ensure that the customer is getting the best price they possibly can.
