I used Matt.E.Photography for my wedding. It was very last minute booking but Matt made it seem seamless and easy. I was also 35 weeks pregnant and the photos were gorgeous. He was very professional and put all the guests at ease and managed to get the best photographs out of the day. He also agreed to stay longer than we had talked about for some impromptu photos in a Rolls Royce which was a surprise from my parents! Brilliant! Would definitely recommend and use again. Matt really helped us out. We had to arrange our wedding very last minute, but he stepped in at super short notice and totally came up with the goods. What I can recommend to Matt from Matt.e.Photography? Everything, absolutely everything:-) ! We (living in Germany and loving Scotland) started 2017 to plan our wedding in Dunnottar Castle and of course wanted to have captured this in pictures as well. Matt was recommended to me on Facebook and from the first moment he was very nice to me. He is a so friendly, helpful and professional guy. He helped us far beyond his actual work and gave recommendations and tips when I failed again at providers. We met him a few months before the wedding and loved what a lovely, sympathic and open person he is, who has a lot of humor. Humor was very important to us because everything else did not fit in with us. We had a great wedding day with him at our side . or in front of us ... behind us above us . He was always there where one did not expect in and caught every situation with his camera. He chased us across the grounds of Dunnottar Castle "Of course, Matt / Sure Matt" were our sentences of the day . I am writing this because we have returned from our honeymoon. So have been reflecting over how fabulous our wedding was! Due to family illness we had to organise our wedding rather quickly . like most people we had no idea where to start with looking for a wedding photographers so we went with a recommendation from the venue and we are so glad we did. Initially we had a chat with Matt to ensure we were all on the same page. Thankfully we were! And any time we had to contact him, the process was very straight forward and pleasant. When we discussed our aesthetic Matt must have really been listening because he turned up in a Jurassic Park Tshirt and Kilt (we got married in Scotland and had dinosaur cake toppers and walked into the service to the Jurassic Park theme song!) and his assistant for the day Sinead was just as ace! They were brilliant team and fit right in with everyone- joining us for a bbq and hog roast! on a serious note our day was designed so a terminally ill family member could attend but also take time out when it was needed. Matt and Sinead were brilliant with the whole situation, so very kind and considerate. And treated this family member so well. And for that we will be eternally grateful. Thank-you for the laughs on the day and the memories that you have helped us create. There is no way we look that good in real life, so thanks for working that magic! I cannot find enough good things to say about Matt!! My husband and I are from the States and we eloped in Edinburgh. It was very intimate (just the two of us) and Matt's intimate, fun style of photography was absolutely perfect! Matt far exceeded all of our expectations. He not only made the contract, payment, planning stage an absolute breeze - he was so incredibly helpful through it all, but he also has a firey awesome personality! He showed up exactly on time for our big day, despite the lack of communication from my husband and I since we had no cell service! Matt was not just our photographer that day but he was also our right hand man - offering to carry anything we needed! He is creative and light-hearted, and coordinated cabs throughout the city so that we could have different backdrops and scenes. Matt is incredibly down to earth, friendly, and talented! He gave us a hand full of edited pictures the very next day so that we could show our family and friends back at home. We are so incredibly happy we chose Matt as our photographer, and we cannot wait to see the rest of the photos! Oh and we cannot forget to mention that we had requested a videographer very late in the process, and Matt was able to provide a talented and professional partner, Alex! My wife and I hired Matt as our wedding photographer back in November, and in all honesty out of all the services we procured for the big day it was Matt that stood out as our best decision. He is incredibly good at what he does as a professional photographer, always looking to capture natural moments, but at the same time he has a great nature and personality which really helped us to enjoy our wedding. Matt also blended in well with family and friends in attendance, we still get comments now on how great our photographer was. Matt provided a 2nd photographer (Sinead - also fantastic) on the day so that he could be on site while my wife and the bridesmaids got ready. A big reason we chose Matt as she felt he would make her feel relaxed and at ease in the run up to the ceremony, which he did.Communication was good throughout the planning stages with us meeting on a couple of occasions to discuss preferences and photo ideas. Matt was open and transparent about timescales afterwards in regards to when we would receive our images, suitably managing our expectations. And of course, we were extremely happy with the end product. The quality of the images were excellent.As an overall statement, I would recommend Matt E Photography in a heartbeat as he was 10/10 in every area. I can see there is a total of 1 negative review on this google page, my advice would be to pay attention to the positives. People are only really incentivised to post reviews in negative circumstances, where people less commonly post about the positives - so when spotting this I wanted to be clear that Matt's ability to provide a professional service while being unique and memorable in experience was a highlight of our day, and I'm confident any future couples who choose him will feel the same.I'll leave you with a couple of our favourites!... Matt is marvellous! From the very first meeting he has been wonderfully friendly, outstandingly professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. We were lucky enough to benefit from the engagement shoot that Matt is offering just now. We met at crammond beach with our wee pug Tommy. My wife and I hired Matt and Katie to be the photographers at our wedding in Edinburgh last July (2015.) I can honestly say that the entire process was a pleasure, from our initial emails onwards. We met with Matt and Katie on several occasions to discuss our requirements and needs and from that point on, we found them to be nothing other than engaging, funny and interested in delivering the best possible service they could. Matt and Katie are both exceptional at capturing the unique and cameo moments which come to define each wedding - they are also excellent at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera - which was a consideration in our case. We also had an engagement photo shoot prior to our wedding and this really helped set the tone and give us an understanding of the way they operate, as well as helping prepare us for July and the wedding. Matt was our stellar wedding photographer in July 2015 at the rowantree (the caves) in Edinburgh. After looking at other photographers work who had shot in the same venue, there was no doubt that Matt had to be our photographer! Well where do I start.... I first met Matt at a wedding fair and my eye was drawn to his leaflet as his photography packages are named after one of my favourite films, so after enquiring about him being available on my big day-which he was:-D we went for a consultation with Matt and Katie in a cosy pub and straight away they made me and my husband feel really comfortable and had a lot of awesome ideas and they were so kind and friendly- it was like talking to old Friends. We had our engagement shoot at greyfriars cemetery which was fantastic and Matt made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and took some unique shots in all kinds of poses, the photos were just amazing. The wedding day last Saturday was perfect, I had a lot of photo ideas and Matt and Keith captured every single one of them- I got a lot of other ideas from them as well which were absolutely brilliant. Very generous I must say. Nothing was a problem for them, even running about after the flower girls he he, the guys made the whole family smile, relax and just have a good time, they weren't just photographers, they were part of our big day, can't wait to see our photos- I know they will be absolutely perfect. My wife Sam and I engaged Matt and Katie to be our wedding photographers last summer (July 2015) and we have found Matt and Katie to be nothing other than kind, thoughtful, professional and over-generous throughout the entire process. Like many other reviewers, we were fortunate enough to have an engagement photo shoot down in Leith last May and this was great fun and gave us the opportunity to feel comfy and relaxed in front of the cameras.....which on your wedding day you really have to be! Matt and Katie compliment each other so well as photographers and each has a different take and a different slant on the scenes and the overall setting of your wedding. They each capture different aspects of the day especially the small intricate details which could be easily overlooked! The styling of the photos and filters used really fitted the vintage theme to our wedding and we had so much fun with them both that in fact we have become firm friends for life!! It almost goes without saying that we absolutely love ALL the photos from both our engagement shoot and our wedding.....we would have no hesitation in recommending Matt and Katie to anyone considering using their services!! Matt did the photos for both mine and my husbands engagement shoot and wedding and all u can say is WOW!! Having not met Matt before the engagement shoot, he made us both feel very relaxed an comfortable, not being the most natural people infront of the lense. Despite the weather we had the best day!
