Therapist

My experience with Matt over the past few months has really changed my perspective and approach on many things. He's been so patient and understanding during our sessions, making me feel totally comfortable and allowing me to express my own thoughts and to help me understand them. Matt has also been instrumental in helping me get back on track to follow my dreams, and for that, I'll be forever grateful.
If you're looking for a therapist who truly cares and supports you then I really couldn’t recommend Matt enough.

Therapist

The first initial conversation I had with Matt he could tell that I clearly had been carrying a lot on my mind. Instead of the chat just being the initial 45 minute consultation, Matt spent an hour and a half on the phone with me discussing the traumas that I was struggling with and he didn’t leave the conversation until i was feeling better and at ease.

Since the initial call we have had 13 sessions now in which Matt has always been very supportive, reassuring, sometimes challenging when required but always in a constructive way and I’ve left every session feeling like we have made progress.

I would highly recommend Matt to anyone whether your goal is to change a habit, addiction, overcome trauma, create a better self image, you name it and Matt will be able to help you think about it in ways that will help you progress.

I am very grateful for the time and work Matt has put into our conversations, he has always accommodated for me at every step of the journey and I’m excited to continue working with Matt to achieve my goals for the future!

Thank you Matt, and if anyone is teetering with the idea of should I, shouldn’t I, take the step forward, you will thank yourself and Matt just like I am!

Matt has been an absolute lifeline for me during one of the most challenging periods of my life. Following a painful long term breakup, I found myself lost and struggling to find my footing. However, with Matt's guidance, I not only navigated through the darkness but emerged stronger and more self-aware than ever before.

Matt's unique blend of humour, empathy, and kindness created a safe space where I could openly explore my emotions and fears. His understanding nature allowed me to feel heard and supported throughout our sessions.

One of Matt's greatest strengths is his ability to help anyone uncover their true selves. Through insightful conversations and exercises, he guided me on a journey of self-discovery, helping me to understand my values, aspirations, and the path I want to pursue in life (both personal and career).

Thanks to Matt's guidance, I've not only overcome the pain of my breakup but have also gained invaluable insights into myself and my relationships. I now feel equipped to navigate both professional challenges and personal connections with a newfound sense of confidence and purpose.

I wholeheartedly recommend Matt to anyone seeking support and guidance on their journey to self-discovery and healing. His humour, understanding, and kindness make him a truly exceptional coach and mentor who has made given me a new outlook on life. I am eternally grateful.

Thank you Matt.

Business & Career Coaching

My journey began with Matt.
To put it bluntly, I had hit rock bottom. The darkest thoughts were going through my mind, and I was close to acting on those thoughts, but I wanted to push forward. When I met Matt, although I had met others before, he stood out and was able to help me straight away by dispelling the darkness. We then proceeded to work through the root of the problem.

Now, after several sessions with Matt, my confidence is soaring. I sleep without the need for alcohol, I've given up vaping, and I'm making decisions that I would never have considered a few months ago. Waking up with a clear head is something I love.

If you're seeking clarity, direction, and purpose in your life, along with sound advice on why we experience certain challenges, then I recommend working with Matt. It's not easy, it will push you out of your comfort zone.
I promise you: IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

Matt, I cannot thank you enough for helping me to sleep and feel normal again. I absolutely LOVE IT.

Counselling

Working with Matt, I learned a lot about myself and others. More on ways to improvise my perspective of life as well as my well-being, throughout our sessions Matt gave me a lot of advice on how to improve my fitness goals as well as pinning down on what I wanted to focus on which the same is to be said for my goals in other areas including income and how to visualize and affirm my success, my confidence and overall awareness of my goals and the specifics of what I want to achieve has increased and my mental is a lot clearer as well as the relationship I have with myself and others, talking to Matt is like talking to a life coach and a kind spirited member of your family at the same time. Highly recommend

I was struggling with Trust issues from previous relationships and had built up anger because of this. Matt has helped me massively to deal with these issues and move forward with my life for not only my benefit but those around me.

My brain works in analogies and Matt was brilliant at using analogies to help me see a different perspective about past issues. He sent me a YouTube clip of the film 'The Mission' which was really empowering and really made me see things in a new light.

If you are feeling downbeat about life, and need someone to help you see a new perspective, then I really advise you to speak with Matt to have a new lease of life.

Thank you Matt.

I worked with Matt for a few months to figure out what I wanted to do with my working life/career. Together we worked through aspect of my previous employment that I liked, didn't like and the types of opportunity that may be fulfilling for my personality type. He also helped with interview prep and a bunch of other things. Matt wore many hats during our sessions including career counsellor, therapist and business consultant. He's very easy to talk, adaptable and patient so I felt at ease immediately, hence the reason I chose him, and the reason I recommend him to others. More...

GRIEF AND LOSS

I first reached out to Matt in July 2020, and I wish I had done so sooner as I was going through some very challenging times with my younger brother who had lost his way in life. Sadly, my brother died of his addiction, and I found myself in total devastation, in a very dark place, broken and life for me was never going to be the same, the pain in my heart was unbearable. I could not function and did not know how I would go forward with my life. From the first phone call with Matt, I knew he understood, listened, cared, and gently took me through the process of grief. He was always available, generous with his time, never shut down the session until he knew I was in a good place. Matt helped me to focus on my values and purpose and he empowered me to be stronger. Matt is a great counsellor and life coach, and I would recommend him without hesitation - you will gain so much from him as I did and continue to. I know I would not be in the good place I am today without his help.

Matt is a clearly experienced therapist. His methodology, understanding and expertise are welcoming, especially given that the previous few therapists I have spoken to have each displayed signs of either inexperience or rather serious misunderstanding of the things I am struggling to overcome.

My circumstances meant that I needed to pause my therapy with Matt, but if I ever have the chance to recommend a therapist to anyone, Matt will be my go-to.

I was struggling with trusting my partner, understanding my own standards within a relationship and identifying opportunities to improve my lifestyle to benefit not just myself but also the people around me. Matt was patient and curious. He was also direct when the situation required it; something I've noticed other therapists tend to avoid, so as not to hurt anyone's egos or feelings. I'm glad Matt has the other approach, although if somebody needed their hand to be held through a session, I can also imagine Matt to be capable of that.

If you're struggling with something and you're on the fence about dealing with it, just request a quote from Matt. You've got nothing to lose by opening a dialogue, getting a quote and discussing whether or not it's a good match.

If you need to make a positive change in your life, wherever you are at, you must speak with Matt Corey.

I recently found myself dealing with depression, addiction and lack of inspiration. Terrified that I couldn't get myself out of that cycle, I made possibly the best decision of my life and asked for help.

I was uncertain about counselling and embarrassed, so I dodged several of Matt's calls (sorry Matt) before finally answering - I will never regret it. Matt asked and listened without judgement, and I was able to speak about things I had never shared before. The relief was overwhelming.

Matt is very professional with a wealth of experience and knowledge. He has a huge array of tools up his sleeve to help you overcome whatever challenge you are facing.

I am once again excited about my future, proud of my past, and forever grateful to Matt for helping me out of a place I never wish to return to.

We developed a plan and a strategy for dealing with those issues that has enabled me to view my life through a completely different lens - one that is more authentic and far more enabling. 21 February 2021

This was difficult for me. I have been sceptical of this type of therapy in the past, with an old school 'pull yourself together' approach. I'm ashamed that my youngest son had a particular problem and I thought that way. Having someone to unburden to, outside of my wonderful wife was immense. Matt was able to advise me the right way to close off past issues, to get some purpose, as I have recently retired and assimilate all of the health advice that appears on so many platforms (e.g. immune system vs. covid). What was for me, not exactly a downward spiral, but being in a place that was difficult to resolve on my own, is now an upward spiral, with every day a positive and with some sort of good news or opportunity. So thank-you Matt, I will forever be eternally grateful and I can thoroughly recommend you. More...

With only a conversation with Matt, I immediately felt I had a little clarity--a better understanding of what I needed to do to start the journey I'm faced with. Dealing with the loss that the Coronavirus has brought all of us, is stressful enough, because it had taken away loved ones, our liberty of movement, our right to make choices and it is also influencing our family, career and livelihood -- if we let it.

This can be a blessing and an opportunity for all of us.
Seize the chance to bring solace and peace in your life.

Anger can occur when someone harms the other in some form or manner and it is utterly disagreeable to the person is experiencing it.

Fear can also be the basis of anger is fear - what have you lost out on or what might you lose out if the worst happens?

Also what frustrates you?
Are you taking it out on yourself and others?

Confronting this matter can take a fair amount of emotional energy and it requires patience and openness.
The end result will be relief and a sense of resolution that the matter was dealt with.

Depression can be related to any matter in one's life: family, personal, due to a relationship (past or present), a breakup, an unsatisfactory home life or an unfulfilling career.

Trauma can be known or unbeknown to someone in some cases. This can include rape, abuse (ie. physical, emotional, verbal or sexual) or a violent act.

Discussing these matters can help ease the pain and eventually to be able to move on in one's life.

Phobias and addictions can be debilitating, extremely harmful, painful and toxic to ourselves and to others living with it.

It is time to rid yourself of barriers, blocks or 'crutches' that are creating more harm than good. Take the first step in wanting help to rid yourself of 'the elephant in the room', in order to take your power back for you and your loved ones.

Do you find yourself arguing with everyone lately?
Fed up with working from home?
Miss meeting up with colleagues and friends?

If yes, for the above, it may be due to the Coronavirus OR it may be, because there were some issues with others for a while in the past, that are coming up now.

This is an opportunity to get closer to others, as our lives have slowed down considerably, either with members of your family that you live with or with family, friends or colleagues by fully utilising web and phone technologies.

Communication tools are there, however you must be aware what are the underlying issues behind the conflict and tension. Then, it is a matter of how to openly and respectfully discuss these matters.

Under our current circumstances, it has brought on a period of questioning our mortality and who we are meant to BECOME in this life.

Of course, our life, our family and loved ones and even our possessions are all important components of our lives.

Yet, some people are questioning - Is this it?

Are you a spiritual being in a body or a body with spirit?

What gives you meaning in life?

What is your purpose in life?

Lost your job? Been furloughed? Fed up with your career or realising your work is not what you really want to be doing for the remainder of your working life?

Now is the time to get honest with yourself and for others around you. Life is too short and time is ticking away.

Be authentic and listen to your inner voice, get past the fear and put yourself in a position of power by moving towards what you really want to do.

Put in the time to retrain, reskill and then pivot and transition yourself into what really brings you joy and where you can provide value and service to others.

Is it easy? No, it isn't. With some help, guidance and support; you can get there.

The most basic and essential component in life, that is required, to reach true happiness and fulfilment within our lives and to love others is to love ourselves first. This is the foundation and the prime responsibility to ourselves.

Yes, we are worthy and loveable, just the way we are.

Self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence emanate from the love we have for ourselves.

Healing from past family and personal relationships is key to bring love and acceptance within us.

Our everyday thoughts (positive or negative), when repeated often enough (knowingly or not) create beliefs and those beliefs rule our lives.

Only when we change our thoughts, will our beliefs change that will lead to new habits, rituals, actions and ultimately results and outcomes.

Are you pleased with the way you are thinking?
Do you want to change your beliefs on something?
Are you maintaining the habits you require?
Finally, are you getting the results and outcomes that you are seeking?

95% of our mind is running our day.
Specifically, our subconscious mind, which controls 95% of our thoughts and actions runs our life. Our 5% conscious mind consists of a slow processing speed and contains our wishes and desires.

Our subconscious mind (made up primarily from infancy and early childhood, up to the age of 7) is habitual, with a very fast processing speed and consists of programs or software (positive or negative) that are running our lives and we have the ability to master our thoughts and beliefs by reprogramming our mind to match our conscious mind and then lead our mind towards what we want in our lives (and not by the faulty programming that we learned from our past).
