Odd job handyman services

At first we would of highly recommended him, he seemed great and very helpful. However since then we find him extremely unprofessional and a total cowboy trades person. Here are the reasons why:

- employed him to do a shed build which was unfinished, he said he would return to finish the roof and never did. Because of this the roofing felt has been damaged. we contacted him and he came back to fix it but didn't bring any felt to sort the damage caused by the job being incomplete. He said he would return to fix it properly but couldnt for 3 weeks to which we agreed and he never showed up for the appointment, never messaged to say he wouldn't make it despite us waiting in all day. This has now happened several times (5 or 6; different appointments) where he says he will come and never shows up and usually doesn't bother to communicate wasting our time. We did a review because of this to which he said he won't come unless we remove the review. so we did and then shock he didn't turn up and arrange to come this morning 23/03/24 and he came without the felting, so still hasn't fixed the shed and apparently going to return Monday with a different product to fix the roofing despite this being in the cards since February he apparently hasn't bothered to get what is needed for the repair. it's ridiculously and so unprofessional. we have 4 young children that we have had to keep home on several occasions because of this which is unfair.
- we employed him for decorating services around the same time he did the shed as we really liked him. However we haven't had him back to finish the work as he did such a half job on so many things, painting skirting boards without tape or a paint guard meaning we now have splodges of black paint all over the edges of my brand new carpets. We asked him when we saw this if he needed tape ECT as we had some to which he said you can't get tape under the skirting so he has to do this free hand..again not the case as I tried when he had left and did so with no issues
- Didn't bother to sand down walls despite being asked to due to some handprints from previous tenants in paint. when asked about this he said he had but issues can pull through. we have since removed the paper and can clearly see this is not the case at all. same issue in several rooms where walls were not prepped correctly so there are unsightly lumps and lines showing through.
- didn't sand down and remove flaking varnish from window sills just painted over it which resulted in the paint now flaking everywhere.
- One day during this two week job he didn't show up and didn't bother to message to say he wasn't coming until extremely late that evening.
- so many little jobs such as prep work incorrectly done or not bothered with which was just sheer lazy workmanship my wife was in bits by the end of it and has since been spending the last two months trying to fix the bad jobs done.
This is just a nutshell of the issues around the house. Don't recommend him to anyone, just shows if you pay cheaply you pay twice !
And to have the audacity to refuse to finish a job he should have done in the first place (as he was paid in full) because we gave a negative review due to not showing up and communicating about not coming is ridiculous. We agreed to remove it if the job is finished that same day and it's still not sorted. We are done with having our time wasted so definitely wouldn't recommend anyone use his services for big jobs or let him leave with it half done like shed builds. More...

Mark is absolutely brilliant! Super lovely guy and a good and thoughtful worker.
