About

Kate Rigby is the director and founder of Mariel Home. Having worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years she has built a reputation for her eclectic, feminine and bohemian aesthetic.

After relocating to the south-east coast from London and renovating her Georgian Town House by the sea, her passion for interiors was ignited. Since then, her interior design projects have become synonymous with her work in the fashion world blending a love of French antiques and the glamour of 70’s Italian design. This crossover between the world of fashion and interiors has imbued Kate’s designs with an immediately individual style and personality.

After winning a scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Kate established herself as a trend forecaster for the World Global Style Network. Among Kate’s notable clients are Liberty, Ghost, Ralph Lauren, Anthropologie and Anna Sui. She is currently working on an interior design project with the fashion label Holland & Holland along with a number of custom residential projects for private clients.

Kate believes that a home should be a space which combines comfort and elegant design whilst also reflecting the personality and passions of the client in a space which endeavours to create an atmosphere of luxury and a sense of daily inspiration.

Interior Design Services

Whether business or residential, large or small here at Mariel Home we can help you to create your ideal space. We offer an initial consultation to discuss your property and what you are looking to achieve with it in terms of colour, feel, use of space and of course your budget.
After the initial consultation we will put together mood boards suggesting colour, fabric, furnishings etc. At this point there would be a second meeting to discuss the mood boards and make any changes, agree budget and timelines before proceeding with the project.

Building Services

Technical drawings can be rendered for any structural work. We have a complete team of highly skilled tradesmen to carry out any structural work to your property. Ranging from builders, plumbers and electricians to carpenters, blacksmiths and architectural moulding specialists. We can also recommend interior architects where necessary.


Antique Sourcing

Mariel Home offers an antique sourcing service. If there is a special vintage or antique piece you are looking for or a number of pieces to give your property or home an eclectic finish, We will endeavour to find whatever you are looking for. We can work to your brief or we can come to your business or home for a consultation.
