I contacted the business for some help for my parents. Having not used a service like this before I wanted a quick phone call to explain what I needed out of the sessions before commiting. No one got back to my 2 emails, not even to say sorry we don’t want your business. I found a second lady who happily called me, twice to listen to what I wanted. What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my career is that I appreciate how fortunate I have been throughout my lifetime to have a supportive family and close friends. The intention of my role, as I see it, is to provide a resource to help individuals recognise and take action when facing their issues and therefore promoting their welfare. The overarching aim here, is to support a change based on the experiences that individuals may have encountered and through this commitment and care, there is a core determination to give everyone the greatest possible chance in life. For me it is a privilege to be a part of this philosophy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My inspiration came from those feelings of contentment and a sense of accomplishment both of which are crucial to progression in our practice and for individuals with whom I engage.
Why should our clients choose you?
Throughout my career both as a nurse and now a counsellor; I have been able to apply theoretical approaches to life experiences, of which not always easy. I have though experiences further enhanced my personal and professional development. I am very committed and passionate about developing a philosophy to ensure delivery it is at the very heart of care and having a genuine commitment to outputs, outcomes and safer decisions.

I can provide remote services, , I respect your own judgement on how you wish to proceed. If you prefer I am happy for sessions to take place by phone or video call, (currently I use Zoom platform) whichever you decide.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I myself am an HNS worker therefore vaccinated both in January/April and, remain COVID free. Although precaution prevails. My office is spacious enough to maintain 2metre distance. If you are without symptoms and not self-isolating, I am happy to meet you at the office. Sessions are Face to Face, one hour in duration,
Supervisor
Supervision is not only an ethical requirement, but also it is a vital resource to ensure that you and your clients are safe and that you look after your own emotional and mental well-being.
My practice is integrative and influenced by the work of the seven eyed model (Hawkins and Shohet) to allow the individual to be in an environment conducive to growth and therapeutic change. I believe this model provides a pathway designed to improve the ability to select what is best suited to the client and their presenting issues, using diverse strategies without being hindered by theoretical differences and enhancing the client work using other models when required.
One of the keys to successful supervision is honesty - I expect you to be honest with me about what happens both in the counselling room with your client, and outside the counselling room when your personal life impacts on you. In return I will give you honest, supportive feedback, and facilitate your development as an ethical, safe, successful counsellor.
