What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret, do I really want to give that away? For the most part it is about making sure your subject is comfortable, relaxed, confident and I do this through how I communicate; I am relaxed, warm, passionate and have a fair few jokes to hand too. The more at ease they are the more natural the shots become.
But it’s also about looking ahead, seeing what’s about to happen & grabbing the shot as it happens - and that’s an art form!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I'll have a whole host of questions outside of the brief, so for example 'when you look back on this occasion what is the key memory you wish to have' answers to questions such as this help me hone in on the overall story we need to portray through the images we capture.
What do you love most about your job?
Where do I start, I love meeting new people, hearing about their plans and dreams, and most of all bringing these to life in a creative print story.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am an entrepreneur, I was Managing Director of a Sales & Marketing Agency which I founded in 2008 and subsequently sold in 2016. Once I left I had the opportunity to explore my passions further and take what was previously a hobby, photographing wildlife into a new business venture.
I have honed my skills further and am trained by London Institute of Photography before launching LysaClare.com, I love meeting people and having the flexibility and versatility of my own company to deliver to my clients requirements.
