My immigration case at the time was a total chaos, all the more than I was represented before by an « online firm » which later on proved to be a scam, so I was really desperate, very low within myself, confused and terrified at the thought of deportation. But after my first contact with Milla, I knew something good was going to happen. She showed empathy during our first meeting, care and willingness to help. I am delighted to write this review for Luqmani Thompson. My file was handled by Mr Jawaid Luqmani, a partner at the firm.
It was difficult for me to understand the procedure to apply for the right to remain in the UK. Naturally I went first to a solicitor who spoke my language. This solicitor passed me to another solicitor who spoke my language and then my file passed to a third solicitor. After three years Luqmani Thompson was recommended by UK friends who said I must have a specialist solicitor with experience and a proven track record. This, they said, was more important than one who spoke my language because interpreters were easily found.
Mr Luqmani was the first solicitor I met who, I felt, gave me respect and cared for my situation. He explained the procedure in great detail and helped me understand the basis on which I might be allowed to remain in the UK. He also set this out in letters to me so that I might discuss the situation with my UK friends. Further, he explained his fees to me and ensured I understood how much and when they should be paid.
My long journey through my asylum application was at times tortuous, disappointing and frustrating. It was not until I retained Luqmani Thompson that I felt I had someone on my side who had the experience and ability to fight successfully on my behalf. I am very happy that I found this firm and Mr Jawaid Luqmani.
