The Coalters property we rented had only just been acquired by L&S after they merged, so there were a few bumps in the beginning for getting a response for some maintenance requests. One day in a local hardware store however, I overheard a stranger talking about L&S and how Mel Meadows was helping her out, so I emailed Mel. Ever since then, our needs have been addressed in an organized and very timely manner. She's been amazing, always keeping us informed of all the steps she's taking to address our needs. We used Linley & Simpson both on the lettings and sales side for several years. They initially helped us to rent our house in York when we moved to another city; then they sold our house with a minimum of fuss and anxiety. In terms of renting the property, we generally found them to be excellent: their rates are competitive, the service was always very good, and they were able to offer prompt and affordable tradespeople when work needed doing on the property. We tried a couple of other letting agencies in York, and L&S were easily the best. On the selling side, meanwhile, we got terrific advice from Adam, who I think has now moved to head office to train new Adams; and we were kept closely informed of all the activity when viewings were going on. Having the letting and sales happening in the same office was very convenient, especially when dealing with a slightly tricky tenant who wasn't always cooperative on allowing viewings. The final phases of the sale went smoothly, and both the price we received and the commission to L&S left us feeling as if we'd gotten a good deal. I would strongly recommend Linley & Simpson on the basis of our experiences, both as landlords and on the sales side. More...

I was a little bit dubious about using Linley and Simpson for selling my house, as I had heard that they had limited experience in the area. I was definitely pleasantly surprised however!
Neil was really friendly and professional during his first visit, communication was good throughout the viewing and once the property was sold, the concept of a Move Manager is genius. Linley Simpson came round and gave me a value for renting my property 18 months ago, unfortunately I was talked into using another agency who gave a fantastic sales pitch of how they could get much more for my property, 3 months later after a couple of reductions I ended up going back to Linley Simpson and within 2 weeks they had my property rented out.

We have just sold our property through the Linley and Simpson York office and have found the process to be very efficient, with plenty of viewings and an offer within the first week. All the staff we have dealt with have been courteous and professional and a quick sale was achieved. My husband and I have been liaising with Linley and Simpson over the last month or so as we continue our search for a rental property near to York. Whilst we haven’t so far found exactly what we are looking for; (we are quite fussy! Ha!) the service we have received has been superb.
