I've attended a number of weekend courses at Rainbow Glass, as well as the evening workshops and highly recommend them. Richard has a wealth of knowledge about fused and stained glass and will patiently explain things until they start to sink in!

Bought the glass fusion day at Rainbow Glass Studios as a present for my other half. She had a ball! She said it was the right combination of creativity and hands on glass skills - with plenty of tea and coffee on tap too.

I thoroughly enjoyed the glass fusion course last Saturday. Richard teaches very clearly, and gives you the space to explore where you would like to go and loads of ideas in the process. His work is fantastic - really inspiring! I hope to attend another course here in the future as this has been such a great experience. Thank you Richard! More...

I had a fantastic time. Loved having the chance to create a family heirloom. I was so absorbed in what I was doing all day that I missed lunch- unheard of for me! I hope to be back soon to make some matching items. More...

this is a great place to acquire & develop glass working skills. Richard presides over a calm & very welcoming workshop & he is unstinting in the time and trouble he takes in passing on his expertise. Whether you are a complete novice or wanting to brush up on your craft this is the place to go. More...

Having learnt to make windows, initially, from a wonderful glass artist (Paddy Robinson) in Australia, I looked for a long time to find a suitable replacement after moving to UK. When I eventually found Richard at Rainbow Glass Studios, he was very patient in helping me finish a leaded, sand-blasted and painted window and so I returned to learn fusing, slumping and more painting and then joined the evening workshops. Richard attracts a very comfortable group of 'students', runs very relaxed evening workshops, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable - and all that with the best music collection I have ever experienced in such classes. Rainbow Glass is an AMAZING studio - I love every minute I spend there.
Richard is a brilliant tutor - he's a source of never-ending expertise but always gives you room to explore down your own path when you want to.
I'd highly recommend you take a course at Rainbow Glass - you'll also hear a brilliant selection of music on 'Radio Paton'.

Brilliant experience both in the initial day course and then the whole atmosphere in the evening sessions when you can do your own thing. Richard offers a great cross-section of technical knowledge and a mad range of back-ground music that’s guaranteed to please everybody (even people into yodeling) on top of this is a selection of well-maintained equipment and a great cross-section of attendees. If you thinking of trying out glass fusing and window making then check it out. Plus parking free right outside his workshop after 5:30 More...
