About

LawFriend Community Interest Company was started by Adrian Berkeley in 2016 with one purpose: to fill the gap in Legal advice and assistance since the abolition of Legal Aid and the closing of many Community Law Centres and CABs which thus meant the demise of free of charge or low cost legal advice and assistance.

From 1996-2015, Adrian was the Principal and owner of Berkeley Solicitors in Droylsden, Manchester. LawFriend take pride in providing “old-fashioned” personal service and combining it together with the latest technology and legal skills. LawFriend has been set up to assist clients with a positive “can-do” attitude and Adrian is always available to discuss concerns and problems.

LawFriend is a Not For Profit Service and is a Community Interest Company providing Legal Assistance for the best possible value to the residents of North West England. LawFriend will agree a donation from the client at the earliest possible opportunity and will present a Donation Note for the work as agreed. However, the Donation Note is not a bill for a required amount to be paid, any client’s payments are accepted as a donation. All funds raised will help towards this service being continued.

LawFriend does NOT represent you in the way a solicitor does. If you require representation at any stage LawFriend will advise you on the use of a solicitor or barrister who will be specifically able to represent you at the best rates. However, please remember we also do not charge you like solicitors do!
