Q&As

My ID process is split into the following 3 stages:

1. Consultation - getting to know the client, the project requirements, design styles and preferences as well as the budget for the works.

2. Design - where the creativity begins. This stage includes both the concept and detailed design phases

3. Management - this is the stage in which the materials, products, furniture, artwork and accessories are procured and undertake cost and project management of the works where the client chooses this option

I cater for the modern, contemporary, luxurious/glamorous, elegant, formal, art-deco and industrial designs, styles and often choose to mix them up to create a more unique look.

Interacting with and getting to know my clients. Learning what their concerns are with their current living space(s) and what they truly desire from their finished project. I love the creative process, selecting the materials, furniture, fixtures and fittings and watching how they all come together to form a unique look matching my clients' personalities.

Having worked in the construction industry for the past 2 decades in the U.K. and the Middle East, I have gained a unique set of skills in commercial management and interior design. When I returned to the U.K., I wanted to fully utilise these skills and help individuals on a 1-2-1 basis to turn their homes into their ideal dream homes; hence why I started my business.

By choosing my design services, my clients are ensured of a highly personalised 1-2-1 service in which I get to know them, their design preferences and design styles and get to understand the concerns they have with their homes.

Based on the information gathered, I present practical and functional solutions to their issues and ensure that the final project delivered fully meets their brief.

At every stage of the project, I involve my clients in the key decision making processes thus ensuring that they are fully satisfied before moving on to the next stage.

Services

With space planning services, current living spaces are evaluated based on the functional requirements the client has for the space, and the ease of flow from one area to the next.

Floor plans are generated and presented for the client’s review and approval.

This package does not include concept and detailed designs for finishes, furniture, lighting and accessories selections

Whether it is entrance hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchens, the client will receive presentations of the Concept and Detailed Designs incorporating floor plans, elevation drawings, lighting layouts colour schemes, mood/sample boards and computer generated images. At both stages of the design, two revisions of the design are included as standard.

This package is specifically designed for clients who are happy with their colour schemes, floors, walls and ceiling finishes, but wish to rejuvenate a tired look and add a luxurious touch. In this package, the Concept and Detailed Designs presented will consist of furniture and lighting plans, as well as mood/sample boards for furniture, lighting, soft furnishings, artwork and accessories.

This package is designed for clients who require L’atelier Kauldhar to undertake the tendering and procurement activities.

Following approval of the Detailed Design, schedules of work, specifications and contract documents for each trade package are produced and issued for tender. Returned tenders are analysed and recommendations for the award of each trade package are made to the client. Trade package subcontracts are then awarded to the successful tenderers. For the FF+E packages, specifications are prepared, products are sourced and orders are placed accordingly.

With eDesign Services, the client will receive the specifications and schedules of work for each trade package, and comprehensive itemised schedules and specifications including product sourcing information for the FF+E products. The issuing of tenders, post tender analysis. recommendations for award, product sourcing and the placement of FF+E orders are excluded.

This package is designed for clients who require L’atelier Kauldhar to undertake the cost management activities on a project. Following the design process, a pre-tender cost estimate is prepared so that tenders received from the trade subcontractors can be accurately analysed and contract packages negotiated accordingly.

On site, regular valuations are undertaken of the works executed against the trade subcontract packages. Recommendations for payment are made to the client based on actual works executed. Design and site variations are monitored and negotiated diligently so that project budgets are maintained. Upon project completion, final accounts are analysed and negotiated with each trade subcontractor and the final project cost reported back to the client.

With eDesign services, the client will receive a pre-tender cost estimate. Cost management activities related to site works are undertaken by the Client.

This package is designed for clients who require L’atelier Kauldhar to project manage the works on site. Where appointed, the works will be project managed from commencement through to completion and handed over to the client. As part of this package, we monitor and manage the programme of works and site changes.

This package is available for our In-Person Design Services only.

A Pre-requisite to all Design Services

Prior to the commencement of any design work, The Consultation must take place as this stage is the foundation of our working relationship with the client and is imperative to the design process. An Initial Client Call will take place first, followed by The Client Brief, in person or online, where an eDesign service is required.
