I don't usually leave reviews but these guys were so exceptional, I couldn't resist! I booked them to fell some trees and significantly trim the remaining trees in my 100ft garden. Adam and his team arrived on time, were friendly and clearly knew what they were doing when it came to planning and getting the job done. They also cleaned up so thoroughly it was like they were never there! I am so happy with the work they have done and my neighbours even asked if they could cut down some of their trees! I will be using these guys again and highly recommend them. More...

We used KW Tree Care to cut back various tree's from our warehouse. This was a tricky job as access was not great and could only be done on weekends. More than happy with their work, would recommend. More...

Q&As

The wow factor we give our customers at the end of each job. Usually followed by a big thank you which is always nice.

The lack of good customer service within this industry gave us the motivation to do it ourselves and more importantly, do it properly.

We are the highest rated tree surgery firm in our area with 100 % 5 star satisfaction. We have achieved this within just a year, imagine where we will be at in 5!

Services

Straight fell
This technique is the traditional ‘lumber jack’ type of tree felling, one which is most commonly seen on tv and in the movies! Once the tree is prepared which involves stripping off low branches and clearing the landing zone of hazards and people. The tree is then felled in one go where it is then processed for removal and disposal. This technique is most appropriate for use in large open spaces where there is nothing to damage, for example, a very large garden or field. This method would not be appropriate in a suburban garden.

Dismantle
In circumstances where straight felling a tree is not appropriate, for example where the height of the tree would exceed the boundaries of the property once on the ground, we would employ the technique of a ‘dismantle’.
Once the drop zone is secured and cleared of any potential hazards the climber will enter the tree. He will then cut the branches to a safe size to drop. After the crown of the tree has been removed, leaving the trunk remaining, the climber will work his way from the top of the tree, cutting off appropriately sized sections, he does this all the way down to ground level.

Dismantle with rigging
This technique is very similar to the above method with the addition of rigging. What is rigging?
Rigging involves the use of multiple ropes, pulleys and other devices to control the way the branches and logs reach the ground. Although time consuming, this allows us to remove a tree with minimal impact to the tree’s surroundings (flower beds, turf etc) and without damage to structures (houses, fences, sheds etc).
These techniques paired with our specialist equipment mean that no trees are beyond our capability.

Stump Grinding
Stump grinding and stump removal
The size of the stump in question determines the approach we take to remove the stump. For small stumps we will ‘grub’ them out with hand tools and sometimes mechanical winches.
Stumps that cannot be removed by hand, will need to be ground out with a machine called a stump grinder. Depending on the depth required can effect the cost and time taken.
Other factors that will effect the quote and the approach we take would include the ability to get access to your garden. For example a lot of London based houses do not have rear access to their garden, thus rendering any of our large grinders useless, we therefore require the use of our smaller equipment to get through the house safely. The downside to this is the extra time the use of a smaller machine needs to ‘eat’ through the stump.

Poisoning (alternative option)

For a fee of £50 (small/medium size stump) we can poison a stump so it deteriorates over time and ensures it does not continue to grow. The way in which we do this helps prevent poisoning of children and animals. We cut a flat slice off of the stump and then drill multiple holes which we hammer in ‘capsules’ containing the specialist poison. We then take the off cut and screw it down onto the stump to stop the poison being exposed to pets or minors.
