KSR Interior Design has helped me on several occasions to pull colours and textures together to complete a look on several rooms in different properties.
Kathryn asked constructive question as she listened carefully to each brief.
She was great at working with you to help you to understand a process and find the best solutions.
I felt I was in good hands as Kathryn helped me navigate a myriad of ideas and come to creative outcomes.
She energised each project with her positivity and creativeness.

Q&As

Below is a rough outline of my design process. It can vary slightly from project to project depending on how involved my clients want me to be.

1) Initial Design Consultation
This is usually a phone conversation followed by a site visit to determine exactly what the client needs, their budget and time frame. I will ask the client to complete a design brief which will help clarify their likes/dislikes and enable me to ascertain how I can help.

2) Quote
Once I have met the client and have all relevant information I put together a comprehensive quote along with a contract.

3) Mood board and visuals
After the quote has been accepted, I will do a site survey and take measurements of the relevant rooms/areas. I then put together a mood board and 2D or 3D visuals (depending on the project requirements) and present these to the client either in person or I send them electronically if they are not within my geographical area.

4) Sample board
Once the client has signed off on the visual 'look and feel' I will create a sample board with fabric swatches, paint samples, wall and floor coverings, furniture list as well as fixtures and fittings according to the brief.

5) Project Management and Implementation
I can oversee the installation/implementation of the design as required. This can include sourcing and ordering furniture, sourcing tradespeople and managing their work, final styling and adding finishing touches to a project.

I can cater for most interior design styles but I lean towards the following:-

Contemporary
Minimal
Mid-century
Modern-rustic
Scandinavian
Boho-chic
Industrial

My job is so varied and every project is different and rewarding in its own way.

I love meeting new clients and creating beautiful interiors for them without breaking the bank. It gives me great pleasure when I find the perfect tile, bathroom, kitchen, colour scheme for my client and transform their home into a space that really reflects their personality and lifestyle.

It isn't always necessary to build an extension in order to get better use or flow out of an area. Sometimes, just reconfiguring the furniture or maybe knocking down a wall between two rooms can make an enormous difference to how the space is used.

So I get very excited when I can offer a solution that the client hasn't considered but that they love and is within their budget.

I had spent many years renovating homes for my family and friends as a hobby while working full time in the media. After a fulfilling media career though I decided to follow my passion and retrain as an Interior Designer and I am so glad I did.

My habitat is very important to me and having lived in three different countries and moved house many times, I've realised that it is possible to make anywhere feel like home and to create a beautiful environment without having to spend lots of money.

Running a small business is hard work but I realise I'm very fortunate to spend my days doing something I love.

CLIENT IS THE FOCUS
I always put my client at the centre of the project. This might sound obvious but I am aware that some potential clients are afraid of using an Interior Designer because they think that (a) it's going to be expensive and (b) that the Interior Designer will do what THEY want rather than what the client wants.

I believe I am a good listener and based on past experience I know I can offer solutions that are affordable and beautiful that will meet the client's brief.

COST CONSCIOUS AND VALUE FOR MONEY
There are no hidden costs so once I have given a quote, unless the client modifies the brief or asks for additional work outside the initial agreement, my fee won't change.

Also, I'm very conscious of the fact that I am not spending my money so I'm never reckless with my clients' finances.

In addition, I try to reuse/repurpose where appropriate because I hate the thought of ripping out something new if it can be salvaged or repurposed.

FLEXIBLE AND EFFICIENT
I can be involved in every aspect of a project - from initial ideas through to implementation for a whole house or I can just be consulted to work on a new scheme for one room. So, I'm very flexible.

SAVE TIME AND OFFER SOLUTIONS
Looking for the perfect piece of furniture, wall covering or paint colour is time consuming. Many of my clients are time-poor or simply don't know where to start. I take the stress and guess work away from my clients and allow them to focus their time on other areas of their life.

Services

Whether you are after a full house renovation or just want to refresh one or two rooms in your house or work place, I can help.
By exploring your requirements for each room/area I can offer solutions to create better flow and maximise use.

This might involve some construction work but it could be as simple as buying or designing bespoke shelving or storage or perhaps a new colour scheme.

I bring new ideas and offer solutions
to help my clients make better decisions and save them time and money.

Buying a new kitchen is one of the biggest investments in the home so it's essential to get it right.

I can help you plan the perfect layout for your kitchen as well as select the best cabinets, flooring, finishes and appliances to suit your lifestyle and budget.

These days, bathrooms have been elevated from simply a place where we wash to a place of relaxation and for some of us a sanctuary.
The bathroom is often the smallest room in the house so it needs to work efficiently and look good.

Are you selling or renting out your home or property?

If so, Interior Styling is a great way to maximise the full potential of your home without making a huge investment.

I can bring a fresh perspective to your property and highlight its best features to potential renters or buyers.

Wherever you are located, I can create a beautiful design solution for your home by using e-design.

After an initial phone conversation I can correspond with you via Skype or email to get a further understanding of your project requirements, likes and dislikes.

I would also ask you to complete a brief questionnaire and send photos or links to your Pinterest page if you have one so I can see what inspires you.

Would you like a refresh but have a limited budget?

I can create a new scheme for your space, creating a mood board and a sample board with colours and fabric swatches for you to implement at your own pace.
