Became unresponsive to text and email so i called citizens advice who confirmed my cooling off period was 1 year and i should request a refund of the deposit i paid (over £3k) Curtis was unresponsive to these formal requests so i've escalated to a claims court. I have never ever had to do this before however i would like people to be aware of how bad this company is and not get caught out and stressed like i have.
Work is sub standard and downright dangerous in places (nails sticking out etc). Curtis who runs it is extremely unreliable, was meant to start first week of Feb, started a week later and finally finished first week in May. This was after MANY emails etc and constantly being told that he was coming then he just wouldn't turn up! We were offered no explanation at all.
On Sunday at the weekend i noticed that on the felt roof he had built all the felt was coming off and the cheap chipboard he used to build it was now being rained on.
I mailed him Sunday, he said he would come Monday. Nothing, mailed him Tues and Wed still nothing.
This man is nothing but a con man and definitely not a skilled tradesperson; as my carpenter told me whilst he was actually building it!
Buyers beware.. It's really not worth the stress or hassle to employ him. More...
