About

I hold a BSc (hons) degree from the University of East London in Integrative Counselling which included extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Existential Therapy. It is also the only degree which is recognised by the BACP of which I am a member and am working towards full accreditation.

Counselling

My teenage daughter is seeing Kirsty at present, we have found her very calming and approachable and my daughter feels at ease with her and able to open up about her stress and anxiety issues. Her fees are very reasonable. Would recommend her highly. More...

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Vicky made me feel relaxed and at ease. I was able to talk about everything that I needed too. I didn’t feel rushed. I felt a sense of relief after my session.

Q&As

Encouraging and supporting my clients to make positive changes in their own lives. I find my clients inspiring and am honoured to be a small part of their journey.

It was the right time for me personally. It meant I could use all my skills rather than be limited to organisational preferences.

For me counselling is not a job its in my blood. I love working with my clients, I love listening to their narratives, and reflecting back to them our time together to enable them gain clearer insight into their own lives. I feel honored my clients trust me and humbled by what they have experienced.

During Covid I have moved to online as well face to face appointments.

I now offer online counselling. I'm leaving it to the client to decide whether they would like face to face on online sessions.

Services

Also known as CBT, this therapy focuses on challenging unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviours. It encourages the development of personal coping strategies. CBT is particularly useful for anxiety and addiction. During our session you will be encouraged to set and work towards achievable goals within a supportive and empathic counselling relationship.

Person-Centered Therapy is client led. Together we explore the issues which have brought you into therapy and use your desire to heal and make positive changes to unlock resources within yourself. In turn together we can witness changes in your attitude, behavior and self-concept.
Inner child work can often work well here as you can become the adult you needed as a child.
All will take place in a compassionate and empathic counselling relationship.

Psychodynamic Therapy explores your unconscious wishes and desires often revealed in the difficulties you face today.
Attempting to push traumatic or uncomfortable memories into the unconscious may only serve to make them more dominate in day to day living. Within a empathic and supportive counselling relationship we can slowly let such memories in which in turn reduces their power.

This branch works on trying to understand concepts fundamental to human existence including death, freedom and responsibility. All which we can explore within a safe and supportive counselling relationship.
