I am incredibly unhappy with how we have been treated. My son is poorly with a tummy bug and despite feeling well enough to attend his session, we considerately kept him at home incase he passed any germs to other children and the staff. Instead of offering another session out of goodwill for our situation, we were told he would receive an online flexi session which just isn't good enough when you pay £40 a session. We have missed other sessions through no fault of our own in the past and again, all they offer is online sessions which should not be charged at £40! Additionally, the tutoring is not good enough and a recent workshop he attended on 'preparing for interviews' was uninspiring and a waste of money. We wanted to cancel our sessions after being with them for some time and were told we had to continue because we were just into the new block of sessions! On another occasion my son was put in the wrong group because there were two children with the same name and the session was so catastrophic he hardly did anything during the session. Another wasted £40! From our experience it feels as though they only care about your money and have no flexibility when you are being considerate to them. There have been too many occasions where they haven't been flexible that today was the final straw and I complained only to be met with a 'Computer says No' attitude from the Centre Manager. I had asked to speak to the owner but she didn't care enough to put the phone call in. Save your money and get a tutor to come to your home. You will get a more personal service and they will not want to charge you when you child is ill or for a block of sessions you don't want! More...

Our experience has been so positive. Ruby is excited to go to Kip every week, respects and admires her teacher and she is particularly enjoying being rewarded with credits to “buy” her prizes!
For us it’s all we hoped for to see her confidence grow and that was evident after just a couple of sessions. Her enthusiasm is really heartwarming.

My son is in year 11, has two lessons a week and I can’t thank Kip at Brentwood enough for all they’re doing to support him. Especially in these uncertain times. They’ve gone over what I expected, even down to sending him a pack of work in the post. His teachers are amazing and the team behind the scenes can’t do enough to ensure everything runs smoothly, even down to him being assigned on time with his zoom lessons! I will be recommending you to a friend of mine who has a primary child as I understand you are also offering FREE mini lessons for them. Well done Kip.....keep up the good work👏 More...

Kip have offered some amazing extra classes since the new lockdown was introduced. My daughter participated in the art session yesterday with Sue, she thoroughly enjoyed it. As soon as it was over told me she definitely wants to do it next week ☺️ the extra support kip are providing in these tough times is great and very much appreciated. Thanks Kelly xxx More...

My children attended the Writing Workshop for years 4 and 5 and absolutely loved it. The first thing my daughter said was that it was really fun and the time flew by. It is wonderful to see them so engaged and enjoying learning. I was really impressed with the expressive sentences they had created during the course. They have asked to go back when the course is run again. More...

The Dyslexia Screening Test is the first step in understanding if your child is at risk of dyslexia.

The Dyslexia Screening Test produces a three-page report, indicating if your child is at risk of dyslexia. The report consists of 12 short tests within an hour assessment. Please note this is not a diagnosis for dyslexia.

The Cellfield reading programme is specifically designed by neuroscientists to improve reading and comprehension skills in just 10 days.
• Suitable for dyslexic and non-dyslexic children and adults
• Improves reading accuracy, fluency and comprehension skills
• Focuses on the neural wiring in the brain
• Revolutionary and unique programme
• Produces improvements in reading and language processing
• Intensive, computer-based 10-day programme

Over the last 17 years, the team at Kip McGrath Brentwood have successfully prepared hundreds of students for their 11+ and private school entrance exams. We have a proven track record in coaching pupils to 11+ success and we’re proud to say that we’ve helped many children to succeed in being offered a place.

Our Intensive Spelling Programme is designed to help students who are struggling with spelling. We have 4 specialised teachers trained to deliver our intensive spelling program that is suitable from year 2 onwards. The main area of focus is, of course, to improve spelling but there is a strong emphasis on language awareness too. This will help your child to improve their vocabulary, comprehension and writing skills.

11+ Mocks Exams are a crucial part of the 11+ preparation, giving your child an opportunity to experience what it really will be like on the day of the exam.

Find out how your child will do outside the comfort of their living room and experience what it is like sitting an exam in a high school, with an invigilator, up against the clock. It is amazing how nerves can affect a child’s performance and taking mock exams will help eliminate any anxious feelings they are having.

If your child is sitting the 11+ entrance exam for grammar schools, the ISEB exam for private school entrance or if you are still thinking about whether your child should sit the exam or not, finding information about the 11+ journey can be a challenge. Most schools don’t know much about these exams and cannot give parents guidance.
