From the very first moment we spoke to Katy we felt an instant warmth from her. She is such a genuine person, easy to talk to and super passionate about her job.
We knew from our initial telephone call that she was the person we wanted to capture our special day.
During the lead up to the wedding, Katy was great at sharing all the photography information we needed (the wedding magazine is a fab touch) and just as great at allowing us to get to know her. Having someone at the most intimate and special moments of your wedding is such a big thing and it was important to us that we felt super comfortable with our photographer. We can honestly say, Katy was so much more than we ever expected. When she arrived on the day itself, we were excited to see her and greeted one another like we had known each other for years! Everything felt super natural and we were able to completely immerse ourselves in the day, with zero worries.
Katy is chief organiser we have to say! She ensures your day is perfect in every way (not just photo wise)... Need help with the bridesmaids dresses - Katy’s on it. Need help with the veil - she’s got it. Flowers - done! What we are trying to say is, Katy goes above and beyond and her attention to detail is spot on.
The photographs... wow! Seeing the photographs for the very first time took us straight back to the moment and feelings of the day. She captures the emotions perfectly. The gallery she provides you with is extensive! It’s absolute wedding BLISS. As soon as we opened it and saw the first few images, tears. Katy captures the moments you don’t even realise, allowing you to re-live them all over again. We couldn’t even tell you how many times we have looked at them, they will never ever get old! The only difficult task we have, is deciding which to frame and put on the living room wall.
Not only is Katy exceptionally talented but she also has the most infectious personality. We lost count of how many times our wedding guests commented on how awesome she is! We truly had the most perfect wedding day and we can’t thank Katy enough for making it so special and giving us photographs and memories that we will cherish forever.

Just received our wedding photos - just great. Katy has captured the day with a whole range of photos, from the few formal shots to a number of natural shots of us and our guests throughout the day. The hardest part will be trying to narrow down from 270+ to 30 photos for our hardback album. Katy was so well organised, she knew what we wanted and she just blended in with the crowd. A few members of my family aren't overly comfortable on the other side of the camera and I did think Katy would struggle to get some good pics of us but how wrong was I? ! From the get go, she made us all feel very comfortable, joking and chatting away to all of us. We spent an hour in Stover Country Park in the cold, damp and ever so slightly overcast conditions but the hour flew and we hardly noticed that it wasn't an overly nice day. We received our photo's a few days after the shoot and to say we are delighted would be a massive understatement. I am so over the moon with them, I am not looking forward to having to decide which ones I print off to frame in my living room!! We were lucky enough to land Katy as our wedding photographer for August 27th bank holiday, on our Preshoot we just had fun and Katy learnt how comfortable we were in front of the camera (quite awkward.
.. I was initially I should add.. Nothing like the other half who was very happy in front of the lens) haha. But Katy managed to help me enjoy having our photos taken and this prepared us for the Best day of our lives. Katy captured the light beautifully, we're stunned at how much of the wedding she covered. She is one talented lady and we also thoroughly enjoyed having you in our company.... Stephanie and I had our wedding on the 12th of August 2016 and we are so happy we chose Katy to capture the day. From the first moment we met for our pre-shoot on Teignmouth beach and she had laughing and feeling right at home;
we knew she would be an asset to our big day. Katy did not disappoint, on the morning of our wedding she arrived on time with a smile on her face ready to start taking pictures. Throughout the day Katy had a calming influence and her natural charisma put our guests at ease.
Katy's natural eye for a stunning photo meant we were always confident that everything would be captured from the church, venue and guests. We especially appreciated our personal shoot between dinner and the evening reception which allowed us to spend some time together midway through the day and to reflect on what a wonderful time it had been so far.
Exactly one month later, on the 12th of September we received our wonderful wedding photos in a bespoke personalised wooden box. This really was a beautiful touch. Katy arrived at our home on Saturday and stayed with us throughout the day and well into the evening. She was so professional, but at the same time was so accommodating and patient with the children.
I personally felt so comfortable with her throughout the time she was photographing our hair and makeup preparations, even through breakfast and bubbles she felt as if we had known her years. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There's no secret. Aside from getting the technical stuff right, it's about helping people relax and enjoy being in front of the camera. The weddings and sessions I shoot aren't about me, or my portfolio. They're about my couples and families and the images they'll have in their home on display, the memories they'll treasure.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Have you looked at other photographers and examples of photos and styles you like? It's so important to find someone who meets your budget expectations (we all have them) but more importantly, someone whose style you really like. Very often my clients like an image but they don't know why, and that's ok. I can help. Making sure you hire someone whose work you will love and treasure is so important.
What do you love most about your job?
The truth is, I don't think anyone chooses photography for the money or the fame. It probably chooses us instead, because we love the personal interaction, getting to know you, hearing all your lovely plans, spending time with you. I couldn't choose a best bit.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My friends and family really encouraged me. I started off taking photos at home, then for people I'm close to and it just snowballed from there with more and more requests! I'm so lucky that now I get booked up all season without any advertising at all. Just good old word of mouth and that's the way I always want it to be. My clients leave lovely compliments on my Facebook page which I'm really proud of.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because they could imagine my photos in their home.
Because they meet me and feel comfortable around me and don't mind the fact that I love a good chat!
Because I never underestimate the investment they make or the trust they put in me.
