Katrina has provided Architectural support for our new build at Fyvie Station, taking our initial plans and working with all relevent parties (such as house supplier and Structural Engineers) to ensure the house that was built was exactly what we wanted. This also included all the official work with Planning and Building Control especially as the house was a new concept regarding energy efficiency and Eco build, which ensured what we wanted is what we now have, Highly recommended! After buying a new build and realising the kitchen was anything but practical for a family of 5! we hired Kat with a view to knocking the wall through from the livingroom to make an open plan space. On her first visit Kat had so many ideas that we hadn't even thought of to make our space work better for us. A little rearrangement of the kitchen to make it more practical and increase storage and worktop space, without compromising on living space. Hiding the posts in the walls to maximise our new open plan space and knocking an integral door through to the garage to make a utility to free up even more cuboard space has all made a huge difference to family life! we never would have thought of all of this without kats input and all on budget too. Would highly recommend Kat's services! We love our new space! More...

Reliable and helpful service. Very thorough in establishing exactly what we wanted, even pointing out things we hadn’t considered i. e. electrical/plumbing points. Kept us right every step of the way, would highly recommend to others. More...

We were recommended to use Katrina for our house extension plans.
We had an idea of what we wanted which we were able to discuss with Kat who suggested alternatives and provided up to date regulations re insulation requirements etc.
Kat went away with our ideas, drew up our plans and submitted and completed all associated paperwork with the Council saving us a lot of stress! The extension is now finished and couldn't be happier with the results. Would definitely recommend Kat

Q&As

A simple visit from an architect will help clients determine how suitable their garage is for conversion.

An initial consultation with myself to discuss what you want, how you want to use the garage etc. Then I give you a sketch plan to check you are happy. 90% of the time garage conversions are "permitted development" which means you do not require planning permission - however in some cases you do, so I always check with the relative authority. We then submit for building warrant to the relative authority (and planning if required). After we have building warrant we get costs from builders to carry out the work.

Working with people to help them realise the space they have always wanted.

After doing my own extension to my home I was inspired to help other families create "that space"

I am chartered architect on the UK register of architects, who has 10 years post qualified experience in residential design.
