I am a qualified Primary school teacher and Senco. I am passionate about children's well-being and mental health and believe that it is important that a child is happy and confident before they can meet their learning potential.
I can provide tutoring for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in all areas of the primary curriculum aswell as 11 plus tuition.

Karen has been absolutely the best tutor I could have found for my daughter. I was worried about the impact of missing so much school on my daughter, who has always been in the top set of her primary school class but lacks confidence in her ability, and was worried about the pressure of taking the 11+ exam. My daughter was incredibly nervous about tutoring, and we had lots of tears, to the point I was worried we wouldn't be able to proceed. Karen was absolutely amazing and as soon as we had an introduction over zoom she put my daughter immediately at ease - Karen is always friendly, patient and makes lessons fun. My daughters confidence has soared and she enjoyed every lesson, which had the perfect balance of challenge and reassurance. Karen helped my daughter with what to expect in the 11+ and how to manage her time, which was the biggest obstacle. I am so impressed by what Karen has done in 12 weeks - my nervous, anxious child walked into the test calm and confident in her ability with absolutely no stress. 12 weeks ago her worry was that even if she passed the test, she wouldn't be good enough to go to grammar - now she has confidence in her ability and understands what would be expected of her. As well as being an excellent tutor, Karen has always answered my questions in detailed emails, provided advice on resources to use between sessions and is a lovely person as well as skilled and professional. What do you love most about your job?
Being able to make progress with a child through learning at their speed and in the best way for them. Being able to teach through a child's interests. Children enjoying learning and feeling positive that they can get better.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked in the education system for a long time and have seen that making small changes for children and building relationships with them helps boost their self esteem, their resilience and therefore their ability to learn from their starting point.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a qualified Primary school teacher and a qualified Senco. I have been working as a teacher for 15 years. I think learning should start from each child's starting point and then we can make progress.
