Michael came to us today to help with our 13 month old GSD. He jamp all over people entering the house, barked like mad at people/dogs passing by the window, pulled like a horse on the lead and was very reactive to dogs when he was on the lead. It got so bad that I would try and avoid walking Apollo as much as possible letting my parter do all the walking. Michael came today and within half hour had Apollo walking amazing on the lead and being calm around passing dogs!!!!!! We have a 5 month old vizsla, I gave Michael a call about a month ago. Not because she was particularly bad, in fact she was very good for her age with most things. The biggest problem being recall and walking calmly on a lead with other dogs or kids around. People constantly make excuses “she’s just a baby” “ all pups do that”. After speaking to Michael and him reassuring me I was not expecting too much, we made an appointment. I am so glad I did. He knows exactly what to do. As soon as he walked in the door he made a difference to peppa and us. I 100% recommend every new dog owner to have him round. Michael arrived and saw Buster at his agitated worst, within minutes he was literally eating out of Michaels hand. By the time he left I had a better understanding of how to handle Buster, and how to control him without restraint or shouting. I cannot praise this guy too highly he seemed to do nothing but within minutes I had Buster under control and obeying me. I recommend Michael to every new dog owner and to anyone with problem dogs. I cannot thank Mike enough for what he has done for us as he said we were told by a behaviourist to rehome our pup as Robbie was going to kill him! !! then charged us £380 (in the process of taking to her court!} we were recommended to contact Mike and what a great decision that was!! within 20 minutes of being with us both dogs were sitting side by side! we followed all mike told us and within 2 weeks they are best friends! Mike took us from despair to elation!! what makes me so angry is that we would never have rehomed our pup but how many people have given up there dogs on her advice! so please if you know anyone who is needing help with there dogs please send them to Mike get his name out there he is amazing! Can I just say what a pleasure it has been in our house since Michael came to help us out with our 16month old golden retriever Cora. We had a problem with resource guarding, excitement on our arrival home and general confidence in dealing with her. Since working with Michael our home is much happier and relaxed for us all. We have now been shown in the simplest of ways how to get the best out of our girl. There is still work to do but we knew it would take time to master. Michael came to assess and give advice on my 15 month dog yesterday and the results have been amazing. can not believe the difference already. Bruno suffered from separation anxiety and Michael advised we tried placing training. I have never been able to exit a room without bruno following me and in the space of one day I am now able to go upstairs and get ready without bruno following. I was advised by my vet to seek advice from a behavioural physiologist for Bruno and was quoted £400 for an initial assessment. I am so glad I never went down this route and instead sought advice from Michael. worked with our Lurcher Fergus. we are so delighted and amazed with Michaels training, advice and tips we were also delighted to meet his 2 dogs and were able to see what they can do. worked on jumping at anyone coming in the door reactive to other dogs while walking pulling when walking. getting him to use his bed instead of the couch and generally his behaviour.x such a lovely helpful professional specialist.looking forward to walks now and enjoying our great natured dog with continuing to use the training advice. Michael came and seen our gsd faolan, faolan was displaying dog aggression and was bad pulling on lead. he also needed some boundaries putting in place regarding people coming into our home, more so small children. fast forward 10months......keeping up all the things we have been taught faolan has improved so much. I can safely walk him, control him safely walking past dogs without incidents. My neices can enjoy coming into my home and play with faolan and hes so much calmer. Yesterday we made the journey to Millport to meet up with Michael for help with Konas constant pulling. After an hour and a bit session the transformation was amazing it was beginning to be a pleasure walking her. Back home this morning ditched the food dish and took her food with me on our morning walk used her food as her reward as this was also an issue getting her to eat out of her dish,no problem this morning no food left on our return, I also ditched the harness and just used her collar,walk was not perfect and a work in progress but you can see the difference,it's as if it is dawning on both her and myself how to enjoy ourselves while out on our walks. We also tried a spot of recall to the clicker she responds really well to the clicker,got a feeling it could be the reward of food when we get a positive response lol. We had Michael come to our house on Thursday night for our 8 month old GSD Macy. She was a nightmare to walk, pulling so bad we were struggling to walk her at all. He not only trained Macy but also trained us. She also was terrible at sitting still meaning that she had to be locked in her crate when we were eating or watching TV. She now goes onto her mat and lies very contently. We spent today doing some of the games we learnt and she is like a different dog already. We have a teacup chihuahua called Ollie. Being very honest we had let him start to rule us without even noticing and couldn’t see a way back. The oaks vets in Saltcoats recommended we give Michael a call and arrange a visit. I have seen such a great change in my dog since Michael came to visit us. We really were starting to think we would never get our loving dog back but within the three hours he was with us Ollie was actually listening and obeying commands. This showed how quick he could learn and how clever our little dog really is! It helped a lot to see how great Michael was with his own dogs and what you can achieve with your own dog if you put the time and effort in. You can see in his dogs eyes they adore him and I feel we are getting this back with Ollie. With a few rules put back in place, working for his food and knowing ‘place’ has become a life saver. We also receive regular calls and updates from Michael to check in on Ollie and it’s nice to know if we have any issues he is on hand to give us advice. Couldn’t recommend him enough! I had Michael out today to help me with my 2 GSD's, I cannot thank him enough. My dogs were pullers and within a short space of time he had them walking at his side. The barking also was driving me crazy and Michael taught me how to deal with it. I am totally speechless with the change in both my dogs behaviour. Would highly recommend Michael to anyone with a dog with behaviour issue no matter how small or large. I will be the first to admit I didn't see how a 3 hour session would change anything in Trevor our Jack Russell's behaviour which wasn't bad but he had a few bad habits I thought was too late to change but after the session what a difference I'm amazed. Michael came to our house to help with our 2 young German Shorthaired Pointers who were pulling on the leads and jumping up when people came to the house, basic over-excitement. We had Michael out to help with our 5 year old Utonagan who was very aggressive with other dogs. He showed us some tools to help and within the hour he had our dog walking with him and his own dog and sitting close beside it. This would never had been possible before. We also made the 100 mile round trip to one of Michael's training classes where our dog interacted with several other dogs with Michaels help and we learned a lot. 'Tell people what you think' I think I want to marry Michael!! lol! I can not believe what he has done for me and my 3 German Shepherd's today! I have learned so much! We had Michael come to our home and help with our 2 young GSD's who were constantly charging at the door when anyone came near, they were also a nightmare to walk as they were aggressive to other dogs and always pulling. After creating a place/boundary before the door and introducing a new collar and way to approach other dogs we have been able to overcome these problems. I have struggled with writing this review as to be perfectly honest. I am simply overwhelmed with just how much we got out of Michaels one visit. To watch him work and see my puppies relate to his calm and yet authorative manner has shown me that you gain more respect and trust by having confidence in yourself and your dogs. No more safety gates on every door, no more locking them away when I have guests and stressing over being followed all around the house. I finally feel like I AM pack leader and this is MY home!!!! What a fascinating and insightful afternoon with Michael, he visited myself and my 4 month old puppy for 1-1 training, around 3 hours. Michael spotted a few things I could do better almost immediately, his advice has made an enormous difference to the anxieties that I was aware of within the little dog. Even by the time Michael left he was much calmer. It takes some practice and a lot of perseverance on my part but I am being rewarded by seeing a contented and well balanced dog developing. Just had Michael help me with walking issues and recall issues and also slight aggression issues and I must say I'm overwhelmed with the response my 3yr old border collie has had to his training! Met Michael for 2 visits recently and the difference in my ability to help my dog has been tremendous. Walked tonight and for the first time in 5 months I have not been dragged around. We had a major issue with our 5yr old Westie being aggressive whenever the postman was anywhere near the house. After a home visit from Michael, we now have the techniques to combat the problem and, in the space of a few days, we can already see positive improvements in his behaviour around the postman, as well as a general improvement in his overall behaviour and temperament. First meeting for Fletcher and Michael today. Our issue was taking him out for a walk and him constantly pulling on the lead. Our only bit of control was to use a halti, which he hated. After 20 minutes work with Michael, our dog was responsive and could be walked on a slack lead with little pulling and no need for the halti. This is a working progress but Michael has given us the tools we need and the confidence that Fletcher can be walked without a halti. Highly recommend! More...
