I recently started taking my very nervous Greyhound to Kath Bell Dog Training at Silverdale and also Mount Pleasant (due to my working hours changing) the level of dog training expertise and experience is off the charts! My Greyhound was so nervous that she wouldn’t even leave the house but after the first training session there was already a massive improvement. She even now can sit to demand (which is very rare for Greyhound Breeds). Couldn’t recommend Kath Bell Dog Training enough!!!!! More...

I have used this school with my 1st dog which was over 15 years ago and they worked wonders with Toby. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but turned out to be one if the best dogs you could own. I now go there with my new dog Stanley. He is doing brilliantly and the advice and training you get are superb. It's all positive training and I wouldn't go anywhere else! More...

I have been for my first session tonight 6pm-7pm at the mount pleasant village hall. I was very nervous as I didn't know how my puppy would react as he can get very excited and barks and doesn't seem settle well, so glad I came to the class! On arrival the ladies and gentlemen were so lovely and welcoming and completely put me at ease. I felt after this first session I had gained so much from it and my dog (fudge) enjoyed himself. Thankyou ladies/gentlemen for tonight and looking forward to many more weeks of training by yourselves! Gets 5 stars from me. ???????????? More...

We took four of our dogs along - no not all at once! Two settled in quickly and were persuaded to do their stuff. Our Cavalier wanted to bark at everyone else, and our youngest- a springer - just wasn't interested. We found the trainers and other handlers were all very pleasant and exceptionally helpful. We had many happy years going along. Now you ask me - does it make any difference to the dogs when we take them on a walk? Mostly yes - since it is all down to the way the handlers do their stuff. Keep up the great work everyone at Kath Bell Dog Training. More...

Although we enjoyed going initially we stopped going due to the non-constructive criticism that we encountered. Comments like "Is this your first dog? " [Reply yes] - "you can tell" are not helpful. The staff need to remember that we are all there to learn and improve. One of the trainers in particular was extremely patronising and doesn't realise that people cannot do twelve things instantly, so when he is telling you to "shorten the lead", "get a treat out", "don't touch the dog", "make him pay attention to you", "lengthen the lead" he should realise that these cannot be all be done at the same time. We ended up walking out on 3rd visit. Our puppy was so relaxed before going into the venue, upon entering we were met by noisy dogs, barking & jumping around, dirty mats (covered in dog hair), we were not asked to provide any vaccination certificates, training, if you can call it that was really difficult due to the noise of barking dogs, trainers shouting instructions out & also very contradictory. Before our lesson had finished other owners & dogs for the next class were allowed into the venue again creating a very negative atmosphere. We walked out because our puppy was traumatized & shaking he even weed in the car which he has never done. After walking out of the lesson( we were seen walking out by instructors) we were not contacted by anyone connected from K. Bell in the following weeks to see why we were no longer attending training classes. We have since taken our puppy to another training school & after 1 lesson he stopped mouthing & you can see a big difference in him, he now looks forward to going every week where he is much more comfortable & confident. Lovely people but the room was overcrowded and so noisy that my dog was a nervous wreck and I had to stop going.
