I was assigned to Jonathan via care for the carer's in Eastbourne to help me deal with coping with looking after an adult with serious mental health issues. The time I spent with Jonathan was really productive. He listens well and helped me work through a number of issues gently and intelligently. The sessions were really useful and made a huge difference in my ability to cope and carry on with the situation I was living through at the time. Jonathan's ability to form a therapeutic relationship was very great and he made the journey I was on a lot easier. I would highly recommend him as a practitioner. More...

Q&As

Helping people to understand and be kind to themselves. There are those lightbulb moments when someone connects their past experience to their present feelings and goes "aha!" - that's gold for me.

I had an excellent experience of counselling as a young adult, and having worked in the arts, I wanted to pass that on for others. Counselling in education and the charity sector is hugely rewarding, but in private practise you meet an even richer variety of people and their experiences.

The quality of the relationship is the best indication of success for people in counselling, whichever style of counselling is used. No counsellor and client is a 'guaranteed match' though. I aim to give people the most positive experience of themselves, even in difficult circumstances or crises. Clients can check me out as their counsellor, and feel safe and confident before committing.

Yes, online and telephone working are the main service. I do offer in-person sessions in Seaford, Sussex.

Services

We all experience times of crisis in our lives when things feel like they are falling apart, or that we can't make sense of our feelings.
At these times, seeing a counsellor can really help to slow the mind down, gain perspective and insight into our situations, and begin to become our better selves again.
My service is to listen deeply and non-judgementally to you about your situation, get to the heart of the matter with you, and begin to find resolution and healing.
