Joe Badger is a professional guitarist, tutor and creator based in Surrey. After being told in school at 6 years old he would never be a musician. Joe has since gone on to play sold out Arena tours supporting bands such as One Direction, as well as earning a guitar degree in professional music performance at The Academy Of Contemporary Music (ACM) – 2:1.

Joe is an excellent guitar coach, he explains things clearly and runs through the basics during the first lesson and creates notes for the pupil to study at home. Joe gives exercises to perform as homework and mixes this up so that it does not become too much of a chore. Joe has a lot of knowledge and experience and is easy to work with and takes the time to explain chord changes and strumming patterns until I eventually get it, most importantly Joe has a lot of patience which is important for me as I am not naturally talented. What do you love most about your job?
It is extremely rewarding when students reach there full potential. The best part for me is that I am exposed to lots of different styles of music and songs, as a lot of my students come from very different music backgrounds weather that be rock, country, blues, singer-songwriter + loads more. I have taught students that have performed on TV and successfully enrolled on ACM's music diploma program as well as having a high pass rate for Trinity and Rockschool exams.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a love and passion for guitar and all things music. I decided to set up as a self employed musician so I could be able to make a living from playing music and pass on knowledge through my guitar tuition service.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have been teaching guitar for the last 8 years privately, this includes 1:1 at students homes as well as teaching groups and band workshops on ACM's Junior and XL programs.
I try to make teaching and music as fun as possible whist trying to get the best out of my students by keeping them inspired.
Guitar Tuition
Alongside being a successful working guitarist, Joe has 15 years of teaching experience under his belt tutoring guitarists from all ages in the Woking and Surrey Heath area, as well as teaching online via Zoom.
Joe covers all the main contemporary styles and focuses on technique, repertoire, theory, guitar tone as well as teaching music technology.
Joe has taught many students over the years that have gone onto study guitar at degree level and are now working full time in the music industry as professional guitarists.
Joe tries to make teaching and music as fun as possible whist trying to get the best out of his students by keeping them inspired.

The way I run my guitar lessons at the moment is that I drive to students homes and teach after school.
