What inspired you to start your own business?
I was a nurse for 25 years .. so it was time to hang up my uniform .. I have always been a animal person .. I have been dog training for 30years .. I go to show and sometime judge ...

I have 2 dogs myself .. all dog are treated like my own .. i am fully insured .. I just love pets of any shape or form..

DOG WALKING
To develop as healthy, happy and sociable pets, dogs need to have ample daily opportunity to play and to interact with other dogs, ideally in an outdoor natural setting.
This also develops their social skills so that they see other dogs as friends!
They look forward to next time, usually waiting by the door for the familiar sound of the car and bursting out to join the fun when we arrive to collect them!
Because Jackie's Happy Hounds is about dogs before profit,
I only walk one dog at a time ( I am insured to walk six), because I feel each dog rightly deserves my full time and attention in order to make their walk a special time in their day.
I am happy to walk more dogs if they live in the same house or if you feel it would be beneficial to your dog to be walked with a suitable friend.
During the walk I will teach your dog basic commands such as sit, walking to heel, wait at the curb, stay and recalls on the lead, all of these will only be taught in a fun way using positive reward based training methods.
Dogs only know what we have taught them or what we have allowed them to get away with.
Basic training walks will not only provide your dog with physical exercise but also much needed mental stimulation.
Your dog will be returned home, dried/paws checked and cleaned and water bowl topped up before being left relaxed and contented to meet you on your return.
We make regular videos and photo's of the dogs we walk, out having fun, so you can see them playing.
Since 2011 I've been walking Monday to Sunday all year round in all weather and all our regulars are very fit, healthy, sociable and happy which tells it's own story.
Sometimes older dogs need shorter walks of course, we will always do what is best for your dog by agreement with you.

As an animal lover and owner for over 25 years, I know how holidays can be very stressful with constant worry that “the animals are alright!”
Sometimes we are extremely disappointed, upset and annoyed that despite paying for proper care, our pets don't always receive what we paid for.
We CAN and WILL do so much better!
Dogs will be walked twice a day on the lead and if they enjoy car travel we can go further afield.
Dogs will have a fruit and vegetable stuffed Kong at midday to prevent any boredom....

When I dog sit I walk the dogs in , Greenhead Moss, Lanark Loch, Barons Haugh & Dalzell Estate, Chatelherault Country Park, Coltness Woods , Braedale Hill Local Nature Walks. The Green Link.. Drumpellier Park ,, Forth and Clyde canal walk, Belhaven Park , Overtown Farm , Murdostoun Woods.. Whiteshaw Woods...
They are walked 3 or 4 times a day,,, I am looking for new parks every time I am out as I like to change of walks,,
The fee is made up of two parts.
You pay a non - refundable deposit to confirm your booking and guarantee that you have the dates you have selected , this is payed at the home visit, the deposit is part of the daily rate and not in addition to it.
The remaining balance is payable in FULL when you deliver your dog at the beginning of its stay by cash , cheque or postal order.
You are welcome to drop off your pet and pick up any time

I have been doing dog training for 25 + years ,,, i normal run a puppy class but dueing lockdown ,we had to close it ,, so i am doing it myself now
