I started playing guitar when I was 14. After leaving school, I studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales and then at Goldsmiths College in London.

Q&As

Being involved in music is not like a job it's more like full-filling your life's purpose. There is so much variety in being a professional musician that I would recommend it to anyone. And I'd challenge anyone to find a more full-filling form of work. There's the creative side: songwriting and composition, there's the teaching side; helping others to become professionals in their own right. There's being part of a community of music lovers. And also the performance side, it's so engaging that while performing in a concert, music takes on a spiritual dimension. And there's not many professions that can say that!

I've been playing guitar for 38 years, and teaching for 28 years. I trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, and I have a degree in music from Goldsmiths College, London. I've taught adults, children. I've taught in groups and 1-1. I have huge experience of performing in groups large and small.
