I cannot recommend Humphreys & Co Solicitors enough. We contacted a number of firms for quotes to carry out the conveyancing when we decided to purchase our first property. We spoke to Joshua Gladwin on the phone who sent us the necessary information we needed to complete for a quote within seconds of our call and within the hour we had a quote for all of the work that was needed. The fees were completely transparent and we received a detailed breakdown of what everything would cost. Courtney Stone carried out of all work for us and made the entire process so stress free. This was my first purchase of a property and so for me, picking a competent solicitor like Humphreys was crucial to me. Despite them being based in Bristol, they had no issues in dealing with the me and the vendor both being based in London. The process in all was completed as quick as was possible, with no unnecessary delays. My solicitor responded to my numerous questions and updates quite promptly and all in all the entire process was smoother than I anticipated. We used Humphries & Co conveyancing department to purchase our first home in February 2011.
The experience was a very positive one.
Firstly, they were one of the best priced in Bristol, and while cheapest doesn't always mean good, in this case it did.
Ian (and Natalie) were really helpful and they didn't make me feel like any of my question was a stupid one.
The vendor of the house we were buying was a 'special case' and whilst he appeared to want to sell the house to us, his actions suggested otherwise! Ian and his team really chased the vendor and his solicitors for us to push through the sale, and this really helped during this stressful time.
Also on the day of completion our mortgage company sent the funds to some random dummy account and it was touch and go whether we would be able to move in on that day and Ian tirelessly worked throughout the day to get this resolved, when no doubt he had lots of other clients files he had to do work on. We were really grateful.
Another thing to add is, originally we were going to purchase another house originally, but we pulled out due to numerous problems with the property, but Humphries stuck to their promise and no fee was charged for this as the sale didn't complete.
