Emma has been fabulous to work with! We used her 3D modelling which was hugely helpful to us, allowing us to really visualise the space and the flow from one room to the next. She really understood what we liked, and gave us design options which helped challenge our thinking and what might work. It's also been great that she's remained contactable even after we've approved her design, to ask her questions as the project progresses, so we can be sure to get the best look in the end. Would definitely recommend her! More...

I loved work with Emma. She has a great style and a good understanding of one's needs. She was brilliant challenging some of my requests and holding my hand when needed, to ensure we have an amazing result in the end. She was patient but also very time-smart, and as a first-time home owner I could have not have had a better parter in my project. Would highly recommend. More...

We had the pleasure of working with Emma as our interior designer and project manager of our house refurbishment in Clapham. Our project took about a year long and in a nutshell, we could not have done it without Emma. During this whole period, Emma had gone above and beyond her job scope, she did countless site visits on our behalf and made the whole refurbishment process stress-free. She is passionate about our house, showing attention to detail and design, and was also good at problem-solving with our builders. Our dream house is looking so amazing with the help of Emma and we are very happy with the results. We would highly recommend her to anyone without a question. More...

I was looking for a while to refurbish my house and found Emma after intensive research. I love my house now. It feels as a home with Emma's help. She called me next day after I sent my request. Visited on a few occasions, gave me the quote, agreed on the job and we started. Emma is listening to your requirements and give suggestions but not pushy at all. I would highly recommend Emma. There is no big or small job. She can do magics with a small budget. Thank you Emma. I wouldn't manage myself. Don't regret for a second. Feel lucky to find you and work with you. More...

We initially asked Emma to help us with space planning ahead of our second baby arriving, as we would need to use our current study as a child’s bedroom. She was extremely helpful and had lots of practical ideas, asking us all the right questions about how we use our rooms and what we would need going forward. We then asked Emma to design a new child’s room and redesign our spare bedroom so it became a study/bedroom. She did an absolutely fantastic job, coming up with innovative designs that maximised our space but also looked stunning. She was always conscious of budget, giving us options at different price points. The product lists that she prepared for us were very user friendly, with links to the items we might want to buy. She was a great contact person between our carpenter and electrician and stayed very involved throughout the project, helping with any questions that came up and popping round for visits. We are hugely appreciative of her work, which is made a real difference to our home and our life. Thank you, Emma. More...

From start to finish, Emma at House of Bricks has been excellent on redecorating my spare room/office, bedroom and hallway. I have loved working with her and having my vision and dream be brought to life! Emma works closely with you throughout the journey, taking the time to understand your requirements & desires and brings so much creative ideas to the table too. I am so happy with it all - it's totally transformed my flat! I would 100% recommend her - whether you just want some creative input or the full management of a re-design. You won't regret it! Q&As

I always start with a face to face meeting in the clients home. It helps me build a picture of who you are, what you like and what you are trying to achieve. This usually is a 1-2 hour process depending on the size and scale of your project.

Based on this I will go away and produce your mood board and quote which is reviewed at second meeting.

I can produce a wide range of styles for my clients, most of the designs i produce would sit in a modern or contemporary style.

Whether I am choosing the perfect item of furniture, helping design a dream kitchen or coming up with a quirky paint design - I love the whole creative process. Every client is unique and I enjoy the the journey each new project brings.

I had been thinking about starting my own business for a while, but was worried about how I would cope with my financial commitments and a young family.

A whole load of courage and encouragement from my friends and family finally helped me make the leap and breakaway from my 9-5.

It’s been a mad 18 months, when you throw a pandemic into the mix, but its been a journey I am so glad to be on. Yes its hard but that is balanced against oh so much reward.

House of Bricks Design is a one man (or woman in this case) band. I do not need to have a huge turn over of clients each year like some larger companies. This means I can be flexible and able to adapt my service to suit an individual job. I pour heart and sole into each project and work on a very informal basis to ensure that a level of trust is built.

I cant help but obsess over the details to make sure every aspect of my designs fits the clients brief. I am on call for my clients night and day to ensure they receive the highest quality standard of service and a newly designed space they love.

I prefer to meet with clients in their home, however in these weird and wonderful times I am also open to conducting the discovery meetings remotely. This would usually be via a WhatsApp or FaceTime call.

Depending on the scale of services, i would always like to include a site visit.

I will always respect a clients own wishes when meeting with them. I always sanitise my hands throughly before entering a clients home, I can wear a mask if required during a face to face meeting. I will always keep a safe 2 meters apart while in your home, and will not look to make any physical contact with a client (handshake).

I also offer the initial discovery meeting via video link, however depending on your project requirements I would always like to make a site visit as part of the process.

Services

This is where all projects start. A mood board will be crafted from all the information gathered at our initial discovery meeting and reflect how I have interpreted your brief.

Whether you are looking to design a dream kitchen or bathroom or if you are just looking for help in how to maximise the flow of a room. 3D space planning is a great tool to help you visualise this before any expensive decision are made.

I will produce 3D SketchUp designs to show different options when for layouts in your new design

I will produce technical drawings that shows information about electrical outputs and lighting designs

I will help you create your dream kitchen or bathroom. Guiding you through the creative process I will use 3D layouts and mood boards to communicate design ideas.

I can provide full on site project co-ordination with builders and tradesmen, and manage the ordering of products to ensure a stress free experience for you.

I will be on hand to manage the final styling and finishing of a job.

For my smaller projects, when you have chosen to manage the process yourself, I can be on call to help you bring the final styling of a room together, to achieve the desired look.
