I have been an IHG member for many years and use the IHG brand for all of my business stays. This stay has got to be one of the worst overnight stays I have experienced, so much so that it would take a miracle for me to stay there again. Checking in was not the best experience, firstly I was not identified as a member, it was I that asked for my points. Next, normally one is told about the hotel, where the restaurant is, timings etc well none of that, it was the feeling of ‘fend for yourself’! I then trundle off to my room (119), in all of my years in staying in hotels, this is the first time I have been unable to find a room (see photo of room directions…..119???) so back to reception for detailed directions. Once in the room, I find it to be very tired and in dire need of a makeover. No tissue (see photo) and thank god I didn’t have to use the iron (see photo) my shirt would run a mile! Then to the restaurant for dinner, I waited for 6 minutes to be shown to a table, there was no one around. I went back to reception to ask, finally I was given a menu and a table. The food was not too bad only strange. I chose calamari to start with, but have never seen anything like it! Clearly constituted! On completion I ask for the bill to sign but was told no need to, again strange. On check out I was presented my invoice and to my surprise I had 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts on there even though I was eating alone. Yes, I was hungry but not that hungry! If it’s their policy not to sign the check when finished eating, no wonder I had issues on check out. Very, very disappointed with this Holiday Inn, if anyone who is reading this is contemplating on staying here, don’t, find somewhere else! More...

Room was practical on the whole, though somewhat dated and worn interior and utilities. Bathroom was sufficient though a squeeze with the toilet. Service was always amiable and prompt. Swimming pool was small but with sauna and steam room. More...

Large hotel quite a long way from the centre of town. It was quiet at night, so we were not disturbed at all. There is a restaurant on site, but it' s quite expensive compared to a restaurant approximately 15 minutes walk away. Our room was clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is wheelchair friendly. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. More...

- Rooms and corridors need updating. Very tired decor and peeling paint work.- No working air conditioning in the room.- No cot for my child. Requested in advance and received a message to say we would be given one but received another message on the day of our arrival after setting off to say no longer available.- Pool area and changing rooms dirty- Incredibly slow service at the on-site restaurant and very expensive food.- Expected the hotel and rooms to be basic for the price paid but too many issues and didn’t feel that we got value for money during our stay. Last minute getaway so glad we picked holiday Inn Ipswich. Staff very polite and helpful. Excellent room with walk in shower. Breakfast 1st class lots of choice and helpful and friendly staff. Leisure facilities excellent even if I spent most of the time in the jacuzzi. Location ideal very near park and ride. If that's closed on a Sunday no 13 bus goes to town from Tesco superstore which is only 10 min walk from hotel. Would highly recommend hotel More...

This hotel is dirty. Walls are smudged with some cleaning detergent but you can see the smudged stains. I might have been unlucky but our room had sellotaped shower head, paint pealing of the of the door, un ironed upholstery on the bed and broken lock on the window so we could not open it. The view of was of a building site followed by dual carriage way. Dirty floor in the swimming pool whit food crumbs on the lounger. To summarise: disgusting. More...

On the whole, it was a good stay in a convenient location.Believe it or not, despite finding at least one in most big towns, this was my first time staying in a Holiday Inn. .. Like most Holiday Inn's, the external appearance is tired, dated and in need of some attention. The internal aesthetics improve, with the rooms being fairly modern and presented well - however before getting into the room, you have to walk the corridors which don't appear to have been refurbished since originally installed in the 70's...Like most hotel bathrooms, it's far too small, the shower screen is next to useless and the bathroom floor floods (and leads to the floor, door and everything else getting damp and starting to deteriorate). The bedroom was big enough and there was ample space to work. The gym was fairly typical for a hotel gym - dated machines in need of maintenance, but better than nothing. Surprisingly, whilst the gym is free for hotel guests, there are people who pay to use it which I can't quite believe. The restaurant didn't have table service until 1830 - however you can book food via a QR code - however this didn't work. After getting the attention of a member of staff, he was more than happy to take the order and was really helpful and friendly.Plenty of parking - no fighting for spaces like some hotels. It's by no means the best, but for the price and convenience, I'll definitely return. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were polite and welcoming and I found the ability to order food through an app really handy. I would definitely stay there again and recommend - I was only there for the night but considering I don't normally sleep well at hotels I was pleasantly suprised. More...

Well located hotel where the dog was welcome to stay with us. The pool was a great bonus and late checkout of noon meant we could enjoy the amenities without the need to rush. Every member of staff we meet were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great including a variety of options and very attentive staff. They fussed over my little boy with offers of fresh pancakes before he even sat down. We are already planning our next stay. More...

When I booked the room I wanted it to be close to the pool but it wasn’t near at all but the staff were helpful and did move me. However the next room had a fault with the extractor fan which stayed on all night!I was moved to room 112 on my last night and I would be happy to stay in that room again when I rebook. The staff were very good and hotel very comfortable with lovely food I would definitely recommend it. Bathroom was so small you had to shuffle past the door to get past to close it. State of corridors was dreadful. Paid a premium hotel price for a worse than budget standard hotel. Absolutely avoid... Rooms were fine, bathroom was tiny mind. Can't complain about staff at all, lovely people. Location is about 3 ish miles from town centre so pretty good. Please make sure you register your car when you arrive, I only realised AFTER 1st night as the reminder in the room was tucked away from plain site! I asked the reception if I'd get fined or anything and she said "probably but let us know and they'll sort it" I really hope that'll be the case coz it really was a lovely stay. The sausages served at breakfast are unreal, I wish I asked where they got them from. All other food and drinks are cracking too. Pool is lovely, never used the gym but looked decent enough, sauna nice, hot tub nice but steam room out of order! More...
