Heather has taken such fantastic care of my Toy Poodle Coco who spent her first night their. I felt completely confident leaving her with Heather and I received photos and updates. Coco was able to make some new doggy friends on her afternoon walk. I would highly recommend Heather’s Walkies. More...

Before going away in a mid week break Heather came to meet me and my 2 cats and I could tell immediately that they were going to be in good hands. Heather went to my house each day, put food out for my fur babies, gave them treats, tried to stroke/cuddle them (which they’re not the best at) and Heather sent me photos of my not so cuddly fur babies. When arriving home the cats welcomed us home in their usual fashion - oh it’s you, obviously they’ve not missed us one little bit!!! I can’t thank Heather enough for how she’s taken care of my fur babies, wouldn’t hesitate to ask Heather again and can definitely recommend her. Top class Heather, thank you. More...

She was amazing with my cats . Took really good care of them, with their needs and was very proper. I’m happy to recommend her to my friends who would need service . Five star rating is the best I would give her ❤️ More...

Heather is a very friendly, professional pet-carer with whom I have left my beloved cat Mr Sparkle in her care on several occasions. I would highly recommend Heathers services as we can go away knowing that Sparky will be in safe hands allowing us to enjoy our holiday. More...

Mr Sparkle is an absolute delight to look after, and he loves playing with his toys and getting lots of strokes. It's a real pleasure to visit him.

Pet Sitting

Yes, everything went well and our elderly cats were fine when we came home. (although a little 'put-out' that we had left them at all! )
The only reason it is not five stars is we would prefer someone to stay longer with the cats and if we were away for some time
perhaps even staying at our house. Regards, Pat Hedley

Pat's two cats were very shy, so I didn't get to spend much time with them, but they definitely enjoyed all their food each time. I hope that next time they will be a bit more used to me, and might get some strokes. Unfortunately, I'm unable to offer overnight visits due to having my own pet family to look after overnight.

Heather has looked after my 3 buns twice now and has done a fantastic job - she took plenty of notes when I explained their routine and feeding schedule - I've never left the buns alone before and Heather left me very reassured!

I was put in touch with Heather through Tailster. Right from the start she was so lively, when she came to meet us it was clear she is an animal person. Zeus was straight to her and trying to get her attention. He has loved loved loved the time he has spent with her on his walks and is always so excited to see her. I would highly recommend Heather, her concern for the welfare of the animals she cares for is second to none, and the service that she delivers is tailored to each of the animals. She has put Zeus's welfare and needs first and he has come on leaps and bounds More...

I highly recommend Heather’s Walkies. She clearly knows her stuff about dogs so I know my dog is in good hands with Heather. She took the time to get to know what my dog likes and dislikes and also what commands she responds too to support her training. It’s lovely receiving the daily updates, and I can see my dog really enjoys her walks with Heather as she’s always super excited to see her. More...

Quite possibly the best dog Walker you can get. She has built up the most amazing relationship with Charlie already within only a few weeks and she is also training him as part of his walks. This is not just ‘daily exercise’ for him, he is learning and being looked after so well. Daily reports are a joy to read and are very informative. Not sure what else anybody would require from a dog Walker and she is even making friends with people in the neighbourhood. And full of advice and tips on how to train and look after my dog too which is brilliant. More...

Heather does a fantastic job looking after my dogs when I can’t. They are always so pleased to see her - Heather is like one of the family to them! They always enjoy their walks with Heather, who takes them to far more interesting places than I have time to. When Heather dog sits for me, I know my dogs will be really happy but also that my house will be safe and well looked after as well. If you want a reliable, honest, trustworthy, safe and experienced dog walker or sitter, you couldn’t do better than to choose Heather! More...

Q&As

I love getting to know each individual animal, and creating that special bond with them. Each animal has subtly different body language, and learning this has always been fascinating for me.
Getting that first sniff of approval from a nervous cat, or dog is a real compliment.
I also love to walk. Getting out into the fresh air and just heading off is a brilliant feeling.

I have been looking after my own pets and neighbours pets all my life. When the Covid Pandemic meant that my children's charity could no longer operate, I decided to switch to animals instead.

I will care for your animal as I would my own, to a very high standard.
I am very experienced, and am particularly good with nervous animals.

Each visit I ensure that I use hand sanitiser. I do LFTs twice a week.
For pet visits, I ensure that I wash my hands at the very beginning, since cats hate the smell of sanitiser!

Services

Group walks of 1 hour.
All groups are carefully chosen to ensure that the dogs’ temperaments match for a fun and enjoyable experience.

I track each walk, so you get an email with a map and a little report after each walk.

After each walk, each dog has a quick wash, and a good dry off.

I no longer offer regular solo walks, but am happy to do these on a one-off basis. Please contact me for further details.

I look after all types of pets - cats, rabbits, fish, birds (including chickens) and reptiles. I can also do puppy visits.

Each visit is 20 minutes long, which is plenty of time for feeding, changing water and cleaning, with lots of time left over for cuddles. (If you have many, many pets, we can discuss an extended visit.)

I am particularly good with nervous cats, as I have one of my own, and I know how timid they can be. By the end of your stay, I'm confident that they will have gained enough confidence to have the occasional stroke from me.

I can also do additional services such as drawing curtains, watering plants and putting out bins. All these extra measures increases the security of your home as there are less signs of an empty property.

I can offer occasional home boarding (up to 7 nights) and day care.
Priority is given to regular walking clients.
Dogs must be ok around cats, children and other dogs. All new dogs will have a trial first to assess their suitability.
