Starting at the Little Learners class, we have stayed with Have a Good Dog through Level 1 and 2 training. At each session, the purpose of the class, theories behind the techniques and proposed outcomes are thoroughly and clearly explained. There are many different types of dog attending, all with different personalities, and the staff accommodate them all with ease. My puppy recently completed the puppy training course. The course was informative and enjoyable. The instructor, Vicky, was very knowledgeable, explaining why we were training a certain way and getting us to understand how a dog thinks and why it is doing what it is doing. We learnt commands such as sit and lie down as well as leaving items, including food. Walking on a loose lead, recall off lead and health checking were also covered. The sessions were in small groups of a maximum of about 8 dogs and Vicky always had someone else there to help her as well. If you had any questions throughout the week you could email her and she would get back to you with an answer. The sessions were what they should be. You learnt things but in an enjoyable manner as you should enjoy your time with your dog. More...

Have a Good Dog provide high quality dog training at affordable prices. Having been to a number of their courses with my border collie, I can wholeheartedly say they provide a fun, relaxed but very informative approach to dog training and are really patient in helping everyone in the class with issues specific to their dog - as every dog is different. I have learnt a lot from them.

I would highly recommend this dog trainer, not only do the dogs gain so much confidence but also the handlers. Anyone who suffers from anxiety would benefit so much from the approach given :) I'm so blessed to have worked with Vicky, she is so very committed to achieving what's necessary, and it's been both rewarding and fun along the way!

We can not recommend 'Have a Good Dog' highly enough. We attended 'Little Learners', 'Higher hounds', 'Rally' classes and Agility with our border collie, Gem. The classes were relaxed and enjoyable for both Gem and us. Vicky is extremely knowledgeable and training methods are all about reinforcing and praising positive behaviour. We learned a lot and our challenging puppy has matured into a well balanced, well behaved part of our family.Agility classes were great fun for us and Gem. Dave introduced the different elements of the agility course gradually so that the dogs could become familiar with them at their own pace.It was lovely to see how quickly they became confident.If anyone is looking for a good dog trainer or needs help with their dog's behaviour I would not hesitate to recommend 'Have a Good Dog'.Many thanks Vicky and Dave for everything you have done for us and Gem. I've done classes from puppy through to higher hound with Have a Good Dog. The classes are great, not too many dogs in a relaxed and friendly environment. No issue or question is overlooked and there's a total sense of team work. Vicky was the first (and only) person I went to when my dog developed a behaviour problem. The support and advice given by Vicky is honestly priceless. Practical, appropriate, honest and positive, friendly, understanding, professional and patient.
